We bring out a Tesco F&F pair to the blog today. I am quite enjoying this; testing out the non-high-end brands, which are a lot more affordable for individuals or don’t know much about hosiery to invest in higher branded pairs.

So I wanted to try out a thicker denier pair – yes I do know it isn’t the season for it, but I didn’t mind slipping into them. Plus I know a lot of people who can only wear thicker deniers for their own reasons; catering for all here!

My Outfit

I went pretty dark with my outfit; I paired up a silky shirt with my floral skort and added my suede court shoes to finish the look. I also wore some small pearl studs to keep it classy.

The Review

The Packaging: I got this pair off the shelf, so they were open as shown below. You have the chance to feel them, the texture and check out the stretch before you purchase. The front shows the model along with the brand name, model name, denier and price.

Flipping over it does into a little more detail, the sizing guide and hosiery care.

When you get in, and be careful, you will find these folded neatly with no card inserted inside. These are flat folded, so there is no foot or leg shaping to them.

 

Getting Them On: I did my scrunch and roll from the toes to the ankles, making sure I take care going over the anklets. As soon as I am past that, I roll right up and set in place. I did pinch and pull in a few places just to make sure I get it as even as possible on the legs so there aren’t any patchy parts.

 

On The Legs: I gotta say I like the stretch in these! There is plenty in here so you get a real nice hugging fit to the legs. It even allowed me to pinch and pull in some places without ruining the tights.

The quality of these are actually really good; they are quite hard to snag as they are super smooth on the outside and I don’t see these ripping easily. I suppose with some force you could, but they’re decent.

One thing I did notice is the ombre effect occurring in some places; I tried hard not to let that happen but as you move, the tights will fall into place. I noticed on the thighs where it stretches out more, it becomes sheerer compared to the bottom of the legs. It’s not a big deal but worth noting if you’re not a fan of this happening.

Oh I also took some shots with the flash on, where you can see these have a shine to them. It’s not a great deal, but when the sun hits these, they would look lovely.

The fit of these are true to size, and I felt I had enough material in them. If you’re unsure, then please do check the sizing guide before purchasing. The feel of them are so lovely they have a super soft touch to them, both inside and out. They feel incredible to touch and they really do caress the legs.

 

The Toes & Ankle: I don’t think the toes are reinforced on this pair, so do take care with long/sharp nails to ensure you don’t create any unwanted holes. I had plenty of wiggle room in them for my toes to move and breathe, and no pressure was added onto them either

Around the feet and ankles, it’s a fitted smooth finish with no wrinkles. I shouldn’t expect any as these have a lot of stretch to them.

 

The Waistband & Gusset: now I have to say this is a great waistband. I mean look how nice and thick that looks and how well it just curves with the body. I have to say I was very impressed with the band! I loved how it hugged my waist so well, it didn’t roll down, it didn’t roll over itself and it holds up so well too. You forget that you’re wearing one – that is how lovely it feels.

The gusset to this (I forgot to take a picture) is a small cotton patch in the middle, which sits flush against the skin.

 

My Thoughts?

A damn good pair I say! I love how these turned out, considering these aren’t a well-known brand. I did really like the quality of these, and the fit is great too. I also loved the way these felt on the skin, and how amazing they are overall. I would certainly recommend them.
