Silca 40 Hostess Tights

I have an interesting pair to try out for you all today; hostess tights. These tights are made especially for hostesses, as they have compression in the legs for those many flights they endure on a daily basis. I was asked to give them a go, and here I am ready to see what they’re like!

If you know me, you know that I do like me some compression tights from time to time, especially as I spend a lot of my time on my feet, rushing about and these can be great for those people on the go!

My Outfit

I really wanted to dress up today; I don’t know why but I wanted the fancy heels to come out to play today. I paired up another new dress with my floral strap heels to create a formal look. You can easily switch to black court shoes, or some pumps to tone it down a little.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I did my usual scrunch and roll up the legs, taking care when going over my anklets. As these are minimal compression, they are easy to scrunch and roll on compared to other heavier ones you can get. I didn’t have any issues with them being too tight to get my foot into.

On The Legs: well these are nice! They remind me of a few brands I have tried over the past year; that smoothing effect on the legs with a semi-matte finish. I love this colour; it works really ell with my legs and you wouldn’t think they are 40 denier at all. I find when they blend with you leg colour well, it makes it look natural and gives that slight barely there look too.

Actually it’s more like a make up finish on the legs.

The quality of the pair are amazing; they don’t snag easily and they feel fantastic on the legs. Yes they do feel slightly thick, however with some compression tights you need that thickness for it to work well on the legs. They have made these especially for those who are in the air frequently and need that leg support, so it’s about practicality a little more than a thin denier here. I really like them to be honest, as they don’t come across super thick on the legs.

The fit of these are true to size and fit me perfectly. I had plenty of stretch to them so I had even coverage all over the legs. I felt these really hugged the legs well and didn’t feel too tight either. I forgot to mention the shine on these as well; they have a lovely shimmer to them which I wasn’t expecting! So you have this lovely make up effect on the legs, with a hidden shimmer when the light hits them!

The feel of these are super soft and really lovely on the legs. They don’t reel rough or irritate in any way. These are also perfect to layer with; long socks, adding a pair underneath or on top. Whatever you style may be, these work superbly well!

In terms of the compression element, does it work? Well I have to say that I have been on my feet all day, and I haven’t felt tired or fatigue at all. Normally by the end of the day, I want to just sit down for 10 minutes and start again, but not with this pair. I felt my legs have been fine and not felt any fatigue during the day.

The Toes & Ankle: we are loving the reinforced toes on these! These are slightly darker in shade, however that is no issue for me. I know I am wearing open toe sandals with this pair, and it works so well as the straps line up with the reinforcement well.

The toes have plenty of wiggle room to move and breathe, and there is no pressure that is added onto the toes at any point. Around the feet and ankles, it is a smooth and fitted finish with no wrinkling.

The Waistband & Gusset: now this is a nice little surprise. The tights come with a brief design to them, that works from the front to the back. I suppose you can wear these with or without underwear, depending on your preference. I just had to show this off, as I thought it was a lovely finishing touch.

The band itself is super comfortable to wear, and does not squeeze your waist whilst you’re in them. They also sit around the belly button on me, and hey stay in place all day. I didn’t experience them falling down or rolling down itself during the day which is a bonus point!

These come with a small cotton gusset, which sits flush against the skin too.

My Thoughts?

I have to say these are such a lovely pair of nude compression tights to be in. I loved the quality of them, and they way they look on the legs too. The really worked for me, and they’re super affordable too. I would happily recommend this pair!

  1. You look amazing as always and love the outfit and shoes as well. One question for you, I know they’re for hostesses but would you recommend for any woman that spends long hours on their feet like nurses?
