I’m not keeping red just for Christmas and Valentine’s Day – I want to show you that you can still wear bold colours like these for other special occasions instead.

I decided to do a cute date night outfit wearing mine, as it was a little too bold for work. I have done a red sheer pair before, but it was quite in your face (which I love) so I thought I would dress it differently this time 🙂

My Outfit

I wore my polka dot skater dress paired with matching peep toe strap heels to finish off the look. I kept it quite basic, but you can always dress it up a little more if you wish.

The bad thing is that my dress and holdups were super static so I had my dress sticking to my legs most of the evening!

The Review

From The Website: Milena is Fiore’s beautiful take on the deep lace hold up design. It is everything we expected from them. Namely, Milena is stylish, easy to pair, elegantly simple and vintage to its core. If you want a classic hold up with heaps of class and heaps of lace, this is it.

The Packaging: it’s looking a little luxe isn’t it? Those dark tones with the red peering through the window at the top. I am loving the look of these! The front shows the model wearing the style at the front and the back goes into more detail.

When you get in, you will find these flat folded wrapped neatly around a car piece.

 

Getting Them On: I normally wear hosiery gloves, but this time I decided against them to show you that they are not always needed when you have a good technique in place. I did my usual scrunch and roll up the leg, taking care of my anklets. They were completely fine being rolled up.

When it gets to the band, I always leave the silicone straps outside so when I need to set and adjust I can do so then just flip the silicone bands over and done 🙂

 

On The Legs: my oh my! Now this is a damn nice red! It’s one thing seeing it in the packaging and another when they are actually on.

The quality of these are superb; I was a little hesitant as Fiore has been very hit or miss in the past when it comes to quality, but I do love how they looked after my legs this evening. There no snags or any small rips in sight, which is great news!

The fit of them were great on the legs, but the band I found was a little loose on me. No big deal as I just stretched them higher than usual to sit around some chunky thigh. Otherwise there was plenty of stretch and material on the legs to give good coverage.

The feel of them were so silky soft I cannot tell you how gorgeous they were. They were great in terms of giving a lovely soft shine when the light was on them and that semi-matte finish during day light so it’s not too in your face.

 

The Toes & Ankle: I am so glad to say that these have invisible reinforced toes which is a massive bonus – it means that I still get to wear open toe heels without that strip going across the toes in a darker denier!

There was no pressure added onto the toes during the evening and there was plenty of wiggle room for the toes to move and breathe.

Around the ankles, it was a gorgeous and smooth fitted finish.

 

The Bands: now the bands as gorgeous as they look, they were a slight pain due to being one size bigger than I normally go for. It meant I either add a suspender belt to hold them up or I tug them further up the thighs so they can cling a little better. I went with my second option instead as I didn’t fancy wearing a belt this evening.

Otherwise I loved them. I thought they were the perfect size to create such a gorgeous statement piece at the top with all that intricate lace! They held up well after I sat them higher (which I am super thankful for as I didn’t want to keep doing it secretly at the table!) and they didn’t lose their stickiness either 🙂

 

 

My Thoughts?

I gotta say I do love this red and the look that it created effortlessly for me. They are a great pair and super affordable too if you didn’t fancy splashing too much on a pair of coloured holdups. I thought they were great and did make such a statement 🙂
