Woolworths Contrast Dot Tights

Oh this is such a throwback – I remember Woolworths were amazing when I was younger, and I never knew they did hosiery. If I was heavily into it like I am now, I definitely would have bought some pairs to keep!

Woolworths was once a high-street favourite, and their hosiery range offered some of the most fun and accessible designs of the era, including playful styles like these Contrast Dot Tights. Known for combining affordability with a surprising amount of charm, Woolworths tights often featured quirky patterns that added personality to everyday outfits. The contrast dot design captures that joyful, vintage spirit perfectly: eye-catching without being over the top, and effortlessly wearable for both casual and dressy looks. Slipping into a pair today feels like tapping into a slice of British fashion nostalgia with a stylish twist.

My Outfit

Instead of contrasting them, I went with an all blue outfit instead, and I absolutely love it! I went with my Mango shift dress, paired with patent heels to complete the look.

The Review

The Packaging

Getting Them On: gloves are on, and we are scrunching. I did my scrunch and roll, to make sure that my anklets don’t damage the pair and I slowly rolled up, until I was happy to set them in place.

On The Legs: this colour is stunning. I love electric this blue is, and it pairs so well with my dress and heels. I hardly ever come across blues like this, especially when we’re talking vintage hosiery! And the fact that it has contrast polka dots – that is something you don’t see everyday.

The quality of these are nice enough; they were pretty pristine this morning, until they ended up snagging in random places during the day. I managed to nick them very easily too.

The fit of these were decent; I had enough stretch in them to achieve even coverage without tugging at them. I will say there is hardly elastane in these, so once they are stretched out, that’s it. I had to be extra careful not to stretch them out any further during my wear.

The feel of them were a little rough, as they have a matte finish to them, but nothing that would irritate. They look super smooth without the scratchy lines, which I was pleased with.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes, which are a slightly darker shade. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish, with no wrinkling.

The Waistband & Gusset: we have a boxer brief that works into a thin waistband like another pair I have reviewed before. It has a cotton feel to it, which I don’t mind in the colder weather. These sit up really well, with no falling or shimmying down the waist.

My Thoughts?

These are a brilliant pair, and I absolutely love the colour! The contrast polka dots were a lovely touch to them, and I am so glad I got to try these out!
