Wolford Xara Tights

I am getting my hands on some serious goodies here you know! I managed to grab a little bargain on this pair through eBay but as it was the only pair, I found another link that sells them but you need to be quick!

Now we are going a little more simple with Wolford – as much as I love their designed hosiery, I never get to check out subtle prints like this!

The Review

From The Website: Clear and modern: These tights impress with their classic, plated lattice design, which is formed by alternating opaque and translucent parts.
Comfortable, soft knitted waistband. An elegant addition to lots of looks.

The Packaging: so once again we have the lovely model wearing the hosiery on the front of the packaging. It shows it quite clearly which I like! The back goes into more detail about the pair, hosiery care, sizing guide etc.

When you get in, I saw the COQ along with the tights folded around promo card. These were also folded so you get the foot and leg shaping to it

Getting Them On: now as these are my size, I know there won’t be a lot of stretch to them, so I need to make sure that I pull them over enough on the feet and ankles so it can easily go up the legs. they were fine getting them over anklets, which I thought may have been an issue with one of them but it was completely ok!

On The Legs: I gotta say these are quite nice; I have done a few similar pairs in Gatta before, which do look great on the legs too. I suppose it depends on your preference really; I love both in their own ways – Wolford especially for the quality and durability.

The fit of these are true to size, so do make sure you check the sizing guide before you purchase. The feel of them are kinda soft, but quite a grainy rough texture on the outer leg. Inside they are smooth against the skin. I also have to add that these do retain some heat so you will find you get quite warm in these from time to time. Not a bad thing for this time of year (depending where you are!)

The design is a very subtle, office-type look, which I do like now and again. It’s a simple basic pattern that works from the toes to the waistband so you can pair with almost anything!

These are also a matte finish as well, so you won’t really get any shine coming from these, but a lovely silhouette look from afar.

The Toes & Ankle: enough wiggle room around the toes, no pressure added whatsoever and they were comfy as anything. These can be prone to ripping let me add, so do be mindful of your nail length!

Around the ankles it’s a smooth finish once again 🙂

The Waistband: and what can I say about the waistband that I haven’t already said before? You’re looking at one heck of a band; it holds up so well, it’s comfortable around the waist without any squeezing, it’s got enough stretch for your size and it does its job!

My Thoughts?

Overall I think these are a real nice classy pair; simple, subtle and works with everything. I love the design, but if you’re after something more affordable then I would recommend Gatta – Lorien range.

Otherwise these are totally worth it if you’re after quality!
