Wolford Velvet Sensation Leggings

I haven’t reviewed leggings in a while, so here I am trying out a pair of Wolfords! I am quite excited to try these as I love their hosiery and their clothing, so I am hoping these will be just as good – if not BETTER!

These were gifted off my Amazon Wishlist, and all details are below.

Getting Them On: so let me mention something unusual here. There I am ready to get my leggings on, hoping to just slip my legs through, pinch and pull into place and make my way… No. That did not happen. After opening the waistband, the legs were basically stuck together. I had to pry each leg apart and there was this weird static noise as I was doing it. I have no idea why this is, but it made wonder if these are as soft on the inside as they look on the outside. After prying it away, I had to be quick to get my legs into them, as they start to stick together. This has got to be the most weirdest leggings experience I have ever had, especially with a pair like this. I rolled them on and then set them in place.

On The Legs: the denier is beautiful and thick. These aren’t see through at all, and a flush colour from the ankle to the waistband. I like that you aren’t limited to what tops, jumpers, tunics etc. you can wear with these.

The quality of these are lovely on the outside, but the inside I have to say I expected so much better. This is something I did not expect from Wolford, which is a shame as I love their brand. These didn’t snag or bobble easily during my wear, but I am afraid that they might.

The fit of these were a little too big I must say. I saw that as there was bunching around the ankle which I couldn’t get rid of. I did tug them up a few times, which meant I had extra material sitting around my top thigh but this just shimmied right back down. These do have a lot more stretch to them than a size smaller would.

The feel of them are nice on the outside for sure; they have a soft, smooth touch to them which is lovely. The inside is actually quite itchy. It isn’t as comfortable as they look to be honest, and I couldn’t wait to get out of them as soon as I got home. It’s a shame as they look great, but these were a total let down for me. If I was to wear these again, I certainly need a base underneath and these to pop on top of them.

Around The Ankles: as you can see below, these bunch up around the ankles, and it has been like that all day. If I was wearing ankle boots or something up the legs, this wouldn’t be an issue. But the fact that I am wearing normal heels, and you can see it like so, it isn’t a great look.

These do come with a slim ankle cuff, which sits in place all day long without budging, which I really like. Although, I am wearing a size bigger, I don’t know if it would be the same if I went a size smaller.

The Band: the band itself is great. I like that it’s soft, it has a nice amount of stretch to it, and it sits in place all day without moving. It is a ribbed band, which does leave faint markings after a day’s wear.

My Thoughts?

These are a great pair, but totally not worth the money. I felt uncomfortable for the majority of the day in these, and as soon as I took them off, they decided to stick to each other again. They look great, but I could not recommend these.
