Wolford Individual 12 Stay-Hip Tights

I feel like I need to say this is an interesting review – and I was so baffled by it all. I was asked to purchase this pair to review, and I am seriously glad I did. It has to be the most interesting I have ever come across – in terms of how to get them on.

Now I won’t say much more, so let me get on with the review.

The Packaging: so looking at the packaging, you see this super interesting pair on the model. I was pretty excited to get into these, and what makes them so special. The back goes into more detail about the pair, along with the sizing guide and hosiery care.

When you get in, you will find the COQ, along with the pair wrapped around promotional card. Now this is where it gets interesting…

I mean like what!??! How and why?! What does this even mean!?!?

Getting Them On: now you’re gonna giggle as I certainly did watching this back. It took me a while to get these on this morning…

On The Legs: now that they are on, I am absolutely loving them! I have to admit, at first I thought what is going on… But then that changed to I really like this unique piece that only I know about.

To everyone else, it’s just a normal pair.
Little do they know … WINKY WINKY FACE!

The quality of these are amazing; they are absolutely beautiful on the legs! these can snag easily, but as long as you take care, these will look after your legs. I had plenty of stretch in them whilst I was getting them on and I got good even coverage on the legs too.

The fit of them are perfect; I got one size up instead of XS, and I’m glad I did as they fit so well. The only downside is that getting XS would have meant I get more of a 12 denier finish rather than a darker sheen on the legs. As I went one size higher, I ended up with a good sheer finish, but it could have been much lighter.

The feel of them are amazing; it was such a gorgeous cashmere touch and I couldn’t stop rubbing my legs! They are super soft, super smooth and are a pleasure to be in all day long! These are also a matte finish, so you get this lovely classy finish on the legs.

This is one of the reasons why I love a matte finish on the legs; they shape them without even trying!

The Toes & Ankle: so the toes on these aren’t reinforced so you will need to be careful of long/sharp nails when you’re in these. I had plenty of wiggle room to move my toes around and there was no pressure added during the day either.

Around the feet and ankles, it’s lovely, smooth and has that fitted finish!

The Waistband & Gusset: now let’s get into the bands. As you saw my struggle, I finally got them to sit where they’re supposed to and they are so comfortable. They are so much better than wearing a normal waistband;

don’t get me wrong I love the Wolford bands anyway, but this is a total game changer!

These cross over the front and back, and they also cover your crotch area so nothing below is exposed in any way. There isn’t an actual gusset to these, so underwear would be compulsory just in case you switch legs next time you wear them!

What I do like is you have this suspender-like-belt-finish to them, where you have gapping on the top thigh. The bands on the legs are super comfortable and don’t dig into your legs as long as you get the right size. You will also notice there is slight reinforcement under the bands.

I will point out that these don’t sit flat on your thigh, so if you are wearing a bodycon dress, then they might rise against it and make it noticeable.

The bands around the waist are just the same. They have so much stretch in them, and honestly it feels like you’re not even wearing any once you set them in place and start moving. I really do love this and I wish more brands do something like this – comfort is always key!

  1. Yes, I had a pair a long time ago. Do you know that the style used to cost in the mid £20’s? It got a significant price bump in mid 2010’s? and then from £43 to £47 in April 2018. I’d love to get another pair, but the price is too dear, and it seldom get discounted.

  2. Did you also try the “Passion Cross Over Hip Two Piece Tights”. Could be interesting as they have a very similar cut at a price of £12 and are also available in different colours. Next time I place an order I will try them myself. All the best.
