I know this isn’t the type of weather to be pulling out some ultra sheer holdups, but I really wanted to slip into them today. I know this is looking a little too summery, but it really did brighten up my day (and a lot of others too) – I did also layer up with a coat and scarf too!
Materials: 50% Polyamide, 50% Elastane
As this dress is a new purchase, I was totally feeling girly in it. I paired up my nude holdups and added a pop of colour with my ankle boots. I added a tan coat and a beige checked scarf to complete the look.
Dress: Blue Banana
Boots: New Look
From The Website: Contrast is at the heart of all good fashion, and here Wolford have used contrast to a devastatingly beautiful new degree. These hold ups are so beautiful and eye catching, thanks to that dose of white lace against a nude leg. They forego the black and nude combo that is so popular right now, and instead give us something truly gorgeous and creative at the same time. A stunning new take that is just as subtle, but rarer and more unique. This kind of creativity is what we love from Wolford, and here it is, transforming another one of our outfits.
* 8 denier
* Contrast lace top
* Matt finish
* Ultra light
* Powder like look
* Sandal toe
Getting Them On: I had to take super care getting these on the legs today, especially since I didn’t have my hosiery gloves on me! I did my scrunch and roll, took time going over my anklets and then slowly rolled up and set in place. When you’re working with deniers under 10, you gotta take extra care!
On The Legs: I just need to let you all know how much I appreciate the shine that these have got going on. Considering these are 8 denier, with barely any material – they still have such a fantastic shimmer to them. I love the way they look, especially the fact they work so well with my skin tone too! I was hoping it wouldn’t look super light with the flash on, and it didn’t at all!
The quality of these are just stunning, and I will say you will need to take extra care when wearing these. I had some near misses in them, which scared the heck outta me! They will snag and rip easily as I mentioned there isn’t much material here.
The fit of these are perfect; I had enough stretch in them so I could sit y bands higher up my thighs. I was surprised as I didn’t think I would be able to stretch them but I could easily. Once again, do take care when doing so! I will also mention that there is no harm going one size up with these if you need extra stretch or just want to be more careful. There isn’t much difference when you do (I have done it plenty of times before).
The feel of them are amazingly soft and smooth on the legs; Wolford did not compromise their quality here. They do not irritate the legs and they are just great all round!
I will say the colour was spot on with my skin tone here; luckily I saw they shaded slightly tan before I got them on so I knew they would be fine when I got them on. This is something to consider if you’re unsure with you skin tone.
The Toes & Ankle: you best believe I was trying my hardest not to touch the floor here as I didn’t want my holdups to catch any sharp parts. These do not come with reinforced toes unfortunately so make sure those nails are short and smooth before you get them on.
I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes and all around it was a fitted, smooth finish.
The Bands: how gorgeous are these bands?! They look bridal-like, but don’t let that put you off. I thought it paired up with my dress well, and I just needed white shoes to really compliment the look there.
They are quite thin bands, with double silicone at the tops I like how they have the lace design at the top and not a straight band.; touches like this make all the difference.
The bands themselves do have some stretch to them, so they do fit the thighs well wherever you decide to place them.
I am in love with these holdups! Even though they are 8 denier, I think they are stunning and give that make-up finish to the legs. I would highly recommend these!
