Wolford Luxe 9 Tights

I need summer to come as soon as possible, as I cannot wait to wear thinner deniers and nude tights without looking crazy. I decided to get the new thigh boots out to wear with this pair so it doesn’t look too revealing for winter.

So I reviewed a pair a while ago, which were the toeless version of this pair. You can catch this review on the link below if you missed it (opens in a new tab):

My Outfit

Because I really felt like wearing something super simple and didn’t want to layer, I went with my oversized bowler shirt. I glammed it up with a waist belt and added simple suede thigh boots to finish the look.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I had to be super careful getting these on, as they are SO THIN! I took my time doing my scrunch and roll, taking my time going over my anklets and slowly lifting them up the legs before I set them in place.

On The Legs: I gotta say I was pretty happy with this pair. I won’t say too much here, but as you read on, you will see why…

The colour is really lovely. I did a fairy colour last time which was really light and actually didn’t work with my skin colour – well in comparison to this pair it didn’t. These are perfect to add a little colour to the legs, or just enhance your skin tone giving it that make-up finish.

The quality of this pair is not bad. They are the type that can snag and rip VERY EASILY but I managed to keep that to a minimum to nothing. If I wasn’t wearing long boots, I would be worrying the whole time.

The fit of these are true to size, and I would highly advise going a size up if you’re in-between sizes or not too sure which size to go for. These are 100% nylon however they have stretch to them without using elastane – not too sure how that is achieved but I felt there wasn’t much stretch around the top of my legs to be honest. I did feel they were struggling a little around my thighs, and I know for sure I stretched these out a lot around this area. Apart from that, they were fine on the rest of the legs and the waist.

The feel of these are ok; I say ok because they are semi-soft but they do feel grainy on the legs. They didn’t irritate the legs, but they weren’t the greatest feel when I was rubbing my hands on my legs. I suppose this is the con side of 100% nylon tights.

A good point to mention is these have a little lustre shine to them as well. You can’t really see it that well in the images below, but I can imagine in the sunlight these would make the legs looks amazing.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes, which is needed when you’re working with thin deniers.

I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to move, and no pressure was added during the day either. These were completely fine to wear inside boots without socks on top to protect the toenails. I would advise your nails aren’t too long or sharp!

Around the feet and ankles, it was a smooth finish with no wrinkling.

The Waistband & Gusset: so the waistband is great, and I had no issues with it to be honest. These sat around the belly button on me, and stayed put all day. I thought they might fall down slightly, but they actually stayed up.

I will say please do be careful pulling these down and up; they are so thin and fragile that a wrong move can rip these.

These also sat nicely on the waist; without feeling squeezed. These do come with a cotton gusset, that sits flush against the skin.

I will mention these have a V-shape panty-like part on the front ad back, which is slightly reinforced as it is darker in denier. I thought it gave a great look if you was wearing without underwear.

My Thoughts?

Overall, a lovely pair but one that I wouldn’t bring out a lot as I would be too scared to ruin them. They are so thin and so fragile, you do need to take care when wearing these. Apart from that, I liked them and would happily recommend them still. Just remember to take a lot of care!
