Wolford Individual 10 Control Top Back Seam Tights

Seams here we come! I am in a Wolford pair once again (I know right – spoiling you all rotten for the past few weeks!) and this time I am dressing up a bit. I wanted to bring out this dress as I love it and pairing it with seams and cute heels. Obviously you can tone it down if you re-create this look, but I love it just the way it is 🙂

My Outfit

I paired up my swing dress with my peep toe suede sandals. I wanted to create a look that can work for a day in town or dinner and drinks. To me, this was just a work outfit because I felt like dressing up.

The Review

From The Website: Trendy and eye-catching: Thanks to the innovative knitting technique, these tights ensure a high level of elasticity and the perfect fit. The shaping panty section efficiently contours the stomach area right up to the comfortable, soft waistband featuring the Wolford logo. The classic back seam really catches the eye.

Getting Them On: now these have a control top so it means it will be a tight squeeze. I did my scrunch and roll, and I did have to stretch it out a bit to make sure that I can get these on as smoothly as possible. I also had a seam to think about too, which added to some of the work!

These were fine going over my anklets, as I took take care when going over them.

On The Legs: so the denier is pretty thin, and it works so well with the seams. Even though they are 10, they do look like they could be a 15 from afar. I do like it though – not complaining here, but something to note if you were after a super sheer pair. Depending on the angle, these can switch from 10 to 15.

The seams are stitched in, so you won’t see them popping out where you can feel it when you run your hands over it. These were also sewn in straight (a VERY important factor, as this can throw it all off when you try to get them on) so it was easy to get them lined up when rolling them on.

The quality is what actually let me down today – and that is a first for Wolford (well maybe not a first but it’s a big deal to me!) I found areas where it looked like it had stretched too much maybe? Something went wrong and I have no idea why, but I did not appreciate the markings on the legs that’s for sure. Luckily they didn’t turn to anything like a snag or a rip, but it still makes me sad.

The fit of these are spot on, however going one size up will darken the denier slightly as you will have extra material to play with. Not a bad thing to be honest. If you are in-between sizes, I would advise going one size up just for the sake of a little extra material.

The feel of these are amazing. They are so comfortable even though you are working with a control top. They don’t irritate the skin, ad they are so soft against the skin. I really loved being in these.

The Toes & Ankle: now we have a few thing going on, but let me start off with the reinforced toes. So the toes are a lot lighter in denier, which makes them look a little odd, but it works for peep toe shoes and sandals. I did find that the stitching was a little off around the toes, and on the sides.

The great thing here is that the seams start from the toe seam and work all the way up.

Whilst wearing these, I did find that they did squeeze my toes a little, and I did feel pressure during my wear as well. It wasn’t too bad, but I did feel it from time to time.

Around the feet and ankle, it was a lovely smooth finish with no wrinkling whatsoever.

The Waistband & Gusset: now this is where it gets interesting.

The control top is here, and boy did I know it to begin with. It feels tights, but not in a bad way. I did find that it sat half on my tushy, ad literally made me have a little muffin top. It really pushed in, and it looked so odd. So I had to keep adjusting until I got it to sit around my tushy properly, so then I could set everything else in place and carry on with my morning.
You get the control top from under the waistband to the gusset area – basically you get a panty part.

One thing I don’t like is that it seems unfinished around the edges. It looks like the stitching would come apart so easily, so I had to be so careful when getting these on and off.

The waistband on this pair is really lovely; it hugs my waist well and there is enough elasticity in them so it doesn’t feel tight.

There is a gusset to them, which sits flush against the skin.

My Thoughts?

Overall a lovely pair if you’re after a seamed pair with a control top, and a thinner denier. But I found these to have a few issues, which did make me wonder if I would want to slip back into them again. I’m not too sure if I would recommend in all honesty, but if this is your thing then give it a try!
