I am rolling into another pair of Silca hosiery today, and this time we have holdups. I was a little worried that these are for plus sized people (I got it from the name) however looking at the sizing and the guidance on the website, I think this is just the model name for this pair.

You will have seen this pair in one of my clothing videos (Soni Panda | Livia Corsetti Clothing Haul) as I was keen to try them out and then get them on for reviewing.

Another new dress is out to play, and I wanted a serious colour pop to go with these holdups. I teamed up my floaty dress with some black court shoes. You could always add white, blue or some metallic shoes to make it stand out a little more.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I did scrunch and roll up the legs, wearing my gloves this time to make sure I don’t cause any snags with my long nails. I took my time rolling them up around the anklets and then slowly up the legs before setting them in place. I decided to wear mine slightly lower than usual today so when my dress sways, you can get a little glimpse!

On The Legs: I absolutely love the way they look on the legs. It has this smooth finish on the legs, and they actually look lighter than 30 denier I feel. These have a wonderful slimming look on the legs, which I absolutely love paired with bold colours.

The quality of this pair is stunning; I really do like Silca as they have amazing quality products and feel amazing on the skin. I didn’t get any snags or rips whilst being in these today, which is great news! They were great to wear on the legs all day long, as long as you take care when you’re in them!

The fit of these are true to size, and I really like the way they fit too. They had plenty of stretch for my leg length and width, especially around the thighs. I would always recommend checking the sizing guide – but with these pairs, their sizing tends to be spot on every time! I haven’t had any issues with that at all.

The feel of them are super silky soft, and by no means does it irritate the legs either. They have been a pleasure to walk around in all day without an issues. They are also really soft on the inner leg which makes them super comfortable to wear all day long.

The Toes & Ankle: so these are pretty interesting, and I have to say I quite like it. It is a slightly lighter reinforced toe on the holdups, which you don’t usually see. It either is the same denier or darker, so this makes a refreshing change in my eyes.

Around the toes, I had plenty of wiggle room and no pressure was added either, so I was happy. I will say you will need to be careful with long/sharp nails as I feel these could easily rip through.

The feet and ankles have a lovely smooth fitted finish to them, with no wrinkling in sight.

The Bands: a simple yet gorgeous band. This makes a change to the intricate lace bands you tend to see on all holdups. I love the simplicity to these, which makes them just ooze class. They have a reinforced strip just under the design and they are held up with 2 silicone straps across the top of the bands.

They fit my thighs very well, and did stretch out enough without damaging the silicone. I did test them out and kept pulling them away from the legs a few times today, and they did stick quite well. It didn’t lose tackiness quickly, which is a bonus point in my eyes!

My Thoughts?

This is an amazing pair of simple, classy holdups that I will happily recommend! I absolutely love the quality, the fit and how gorgeous they look on the legs. They are a hidden luxury pair that I feel the world needs!
