Sheer Chemistry Ambition – Matt Tights

Roll on Day 2 of the Sheer Chemistry brand. This time we are doing the Ambition collection, in a matt finish which is gonna be fun!

If most of you don’t know, I love a matt/matte finish on hosiery; it does wonders for your legs when dressed right (and of course the right denier too!)

Now before I go right in, these are a size medium (I’m normally X-Small to Small) so I won’t really be focusing on the sizing issue but more on the look, feel etc like I normally do.

My Outfit

I know I have done this outfit once before but it’s one that you can’t go wrong with on a cold day but still wanna be showing off ‘bare ‘ legs. I wore my oversized jumper (which can hang off the shoulder too) with my thigh high boots in a suede grey and just added a choker to give it a little boost so it’s not too plain-looking!

I left my hair down and wavy because it was a roll-out-of-bed-and-into-work kinda day for me!

My Deets

Boots: Deichmann

When They First Arrived: so I will be putting this section in the next few blogs as I review their hosiery as I had all 3 delivered at once.

I was super impressed with their packaging as they have their own little logo on the address label.

Getting inside, I received a lovely card from them along with a promo card talking about the brand and what makes them unique.

One thing I LOVE that they do is that they colour code their hosiery; the blue wrapping was for confidence, the purple is for ambition and the pink is for radiance – and they matched their tissue wrapping to the packaging!

I love how cute and inventive that is!

The Packaging: the front is a drawn model wearing the hosiery but it’s a lovely darker shade on the legs rather than the normal lighter skin models. The back delved into a little more detail about the hosiery (sizing, hosiery care, the denier):

“Comfort waistband.

Cotton gusset with flat seams.

Sheer-to-waist leg.

Sheer reinforced toe.”

When you get inside, these are kept folded neatly around a piece of card in plastic wrapping.

Getting Them On: so these are subtly shaped to the legs, which is gonna be great to slip them right on and not having to worry about lining up toe seams.

I used to scrunch and roll on the anklet side and the pull up on the other. Now I gotta say even though these are a medium, these fit so great on my legs! But I will go into that a little further down for you!

Now getting these over anklets are fine as long as they aren’t too sharp or can catch onto hosiery. I had no problems with mine whatsoever.

On The Legs; Denier & Colour: so let me start with the sizing. Now I am a small and I thought that these would be slightly baggy on me and on the legs, but they actually aren’t at all. They fit great like a small would, there isn’t any extra material floating around from the toes to the thighs and they still hug the legs really well!

The denier is just to die or; 15 is great for that barely there look, and the fact that these are a matt finish are perfect. I have to say with the flash on, the matt becomes a gorgeous shimmer on the legs, which I didn’t expect to be honest. I know you can get that with some brands, but this is just gorgeous. During the day, I can tell you that these don’t have a great deal of shine (especially if you’re wearing them in winter months than summer), but my God! I am impressed with that!

If you’re looking for a pure matt finish, I don’t think I would recommend these to you!

The feel on the legs is just amazeballs; they’re silky, they’re smooth and they look like I’ve got tamed legs with some shimmer on rather than wearing hosiery if I am honest. And snag-free to let me just mention there!

The Toes & Ankles: the best thing about these are that they’re reinforced (YAY!) which means you will get that slightly darker denier strip going across the front and back of them. It’s not a major issue, because you can’t actually see it during the day – it’s only when the flash hits it!

Around the ankles, I expected some gathering, but there isn’t any whatsoever! I am super impressed with these, especially being one size bigger than I would normally get.

The Waistband & Gusset: is so comfortable once again. It’s a slimline band, but not one that digs in during the day. They don’t fall down after a day’s wear either, however I did find that they so slightly roll down on itself during the day. I’m not too sure if it’s supposed to sit higher than my belly button as you can see on the images below (or whether that’s the sizing issue) but I find it starting to roll down on itself after a full day’s wear.

The gusset is a soft cotton on, and as I wore underwear I couldn’t test this out, but it’s a good on put it that way; soft and smooth to touch and enough ventilation!

My Thoughts?

I am in awe of these, even though they are one size up! Like the confidence collection, I love the feel of them, the quality, the smoothness and how damn good my legs look in them as soon as I roll them on.

I am really loving these, and to be honest, this could be one of my favourite skin coloured hosiery brands I will be recommending for the summer!

Right, one more to go for you all! I can’t wait to try them out!
