Relaxsan 18-22 mmHg 870M Compression Holdups

Day 14 of my April holdups series brings something a little different to the lineup – compression holdups from Relaxsan, offering 18‑22 mmHg graduated compression to support your legs while you’re on your feet (or seated) throughout the day. All pairs in this series have been bought from my Amazon wishlist, and this one stands out as a functional pair that blurs the line between stylish hosiery and practical support wear.

Relaxsan is an Italian brand known for its medical‑grade graduated compression hosiery – expertly crafted to improve blood circulation and help reduce tired, achy legs, swelling and the early signs of venous insufficiency through thoughtfully engineered pressure that is strongest at the ankle and gradually eases up the leg. These hold‑ups particularly sit in the medium compression category, which many people choose for everyday comfort on long workdays, travel days, or when your legs just need a bit of extra support beyond sheer or opaque options.

Getting Them On: as much as I always recommend my hosiery gloves to get hosiery on, this was the one time where I had to take them off to get these on. They were so tough, and I needed my fingers to help me grip on properly.

Doing a scrunch and roll was so difficult in these; the more I scrunched down, the tougher it got to stretch it out. I managed to get there in the end, but it did take me around 10mins to get them both on…

On The Legs: let’s talk about the colour, because this is something that would look better with a darker coloured dress in my opinion. It’s a very dark tan, which I normally don’t mind – but when it’s a thicker denier, it really doesn’t look right. I probably should have opted for a more natural nude shade instead – never mind…

The compression side of things; these did a good job. I don’t know too much about the compression numbers, but I did feel these stimulated my legs during my wear. They felt cold at times but then soon it sorted itself out – I don’t know if that’s part of helping circulation or not. There’s a lot for me to research here!

The quality of really damn good; I haven’t tried this brand before, but honestly they are made very well. I have pinched and pulled at these for most of my day to test them out – they have stayed pristine. I mean the heavy denier would help here for sure, but I am impressed nonetheless. They are durable for sure!

The fit of these are true to size, and I had just about enough stretch in them to sit them a little higher than they would have liked me to. I really did struggle to pull them up!
If you are in-between sizes, I would advise to definitely go a size up just you have a little extra material to play with.

The feel of these are a bit weird to begin with, as it’s not a normal nylon against the skin. It’s a thicker, denser material that feels more like leggings than hosiery. I didn’t mind it to be honest as we are working with compression here!

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes and heels as you can see the colour difference below. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either. These are made of a more silkier material, along with the heel reinforcement too.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish with a little wrinkling around the ankles, due to the thickness.

The Bands: I really didn’t expect them to have a design to them, but it’s quite nice. It’s simple, slightly intricate and pretty.

I had a little stretch in these bands but I am so glad that they didn’t squeeze the life out of my thighs. They also held up so well during my wear today. I had no issues with the tackiness.

My Thoughts?

For a compression pair, they did their job I feel. I loved the way they felt once I was on the move, ad they kept my legs feeling energised the whole day. The colour was a little off as the denier is super high, so I would love to try these more to my own skin colour or just in black. Overall, a great pair if compression if your thing!

“It’s so nice to see you trying real compression hosiery rather than just support tights, even if this shade isn’t quite to your liking. I sincerely hope you’ll do a little research; I think you’ll feel much more confident as you dive deeper into it.
From my own experience, anything much stronger usually comes with a warning. While it’s very sensible to get medical advice first etc etc… , I’ll admit I didn’t actually do that myself! I just wanted to experience what vary high compression felt like, even though I do not need it.
If you do follow my lead, be prepared for an even bigger struggle to get them on and I mean struggle! Was it worth it as a hosiery wearing experience? Yes, it was. I wonder if you’ll follow in my footsteps after you’ve done your research? Who knows, I very much hope you do and we see you in full compression hosiery I think you love the feeling!”
