Pierre Mantoux Jody Parigina Thigh High Socks

Oh my God I am having a right day – not in a good way! I have been dying to try these out, and to be honest nothing is working for me right now. I was contemplating wearing these to work, but every time I match up an outfit, I don’t feel comfortable in it. So I opted for the easier version; black!

Luckily it’s a day at home blogging and doing my coursework (and only stepping out when I need to) so it’s all good! Otherwise I would be seriously stuck….

My Outfit

I was having a slobby day at home, so I decided to rock out my hoodie with my quilted skater skirt and my Timberlands (when I decided to go out).

I left my hair down and just bedhead and left my socks to be the statement piece. You can dress these to work, but I was having a right morning and just went casual with them instead.

My Deets

The Review

The Packaging: different but intriguing! The front shows the model wearing them (by the way it looks like a complete different colour on her!) and the back has a massive window where you can see what they’re like inside.

It also came wrapped around a piece of card which stated the following:

“Congratulation, with Pierre Mantoux you have chosen a pair of tights of the highest possible quality. We are sure that you will be satisfied by your choice. A product of high value like tights from Pierre Mantoux should be treated with the utmost attention and great care. Following our recommendations how to treat them you can be sure that they will remain in perfect condition for a long time.”

Then you will see a pictorial…

“How To Put Them On. Always remember to remove jewellery with mountings and edged stones from your hands before putting on the tights.

Now roll then completely up that waistband and toes come close together. Now you can begin to put them on, starting delicately with one of your feet.

Stretch the tights carefully over the calves and up to the thigh and then do the same with your other leg. Now you can pull the tights carefully to the waist.

How To Take Them Off. Starting with one leg roll the tights with your both hands carefully up to the ankle and slip them delicately off.

How To Store Your Tights. Keep them accurately upfolder where you also store your lingerie, if possible protected each by any kind of envelope. Always protect them with a special kind of envelope when travelling than keeping them unprotected in the luggage.”

Warranty of Quality. With more than 70 years of experience Pierre Mantoux dedicated all its skills and care to manufacturing a perfect product. The employment of only premium quality and innovative fibres, of advanced technology and of skilled workmanship result in silky-soft yet resistant hosiery of the highest possible quality: Pierre Mantoux hosiery excels in product finish due to the particular care of ultimate details like flat reinforced seams, reinforced or nude toes, preformed, gusset and exclusive waistband.”

Getting Them On: okay so these aren’t really shaped to the legs, so I suppose you can wear them either way. But I hate doing that – I always follow the toe seams across, so you get the floral design at the front and back in the middle with the striped at the side. These were super easy to roll on, and would look so good with a pair of nylons on underneath for sure!

On The Legs: they are super soft and so snug fitting! I have to say these did not fall down once the whole day! The band on these are so good, but I think you may need to wear these with a matte finish rather than a silky shine as I fear they will with them! They look pretty fuddy duddy but then again I went basic and let them get to work, so it all was ok in the end! It’s not something I would normally go for, but I am so glad that I tried them out!

They do stretch but I didn’t want to force them up anymore than I had to, so I left them sitting just over the knee (about a inch or two above) and they stayed up well!

The Design: is super old school but looks so good. I would have liked to have paired this with a vintage like dress and heels to emphasise it, but seeing as it was a lounge day, I just worked with what I had lying around! It works right from the seams to the bottom of the band. Not many people would like these, but dressed the right way, these could look banging!

The Toes: see through of course! I love it, especially when the nail varnish peers through as well! There’s enough room for a wiggle in them too!

My Thoughts?

There’s not much I can say apart from I love them. These are certainly a high quality pair of thigh highs, and one to consider if you can get hold of a pair! You can wear them below the knee which will make the denier become thicker and more opaque, but it’s one to play around with. So glad I trialled these out!

By the way I am loving the pic below! No filter on this and my thighs just look super smooth and tanned!! Go natural lighting!
