Penti Nostalgia Knee High Socks

I am back in Penti, and this time I am doing a half review/half promo with this outfit. I wanted to collab 2 amazing pieces together to create an effortless chic look.

So let me just say that these are not knee high socks, nor are they holdups. These are stockings and you will find out more below. I have no idea why some people call it different names, but I wanted to start off by saying that so you know what I am talking about further down.

The Packaging: the model is shown wearing the stockings on the front (with no suspender belt I know) and the back goes into a little more detail about the product. When you get in, you will find the stockings wrapped around promotional card.

I did a little examination of them before getting them on (of course) and I noticed that the seam on one leg was slightly wonky when you put them flat. I am hoping this won’t be an issue when I get them on and spend the day in them.

Getting Them On: using my scrunch and roll technique, I took care getting these over the anklets and up the legs. I will say I had to pinch the seams a few times to make sure they were sitting as straight as possible. I rolled them up the legs and sat them high up the thighs. I used my 6 clasp suspender belt.

On The Legs: well let me start off by saying that these are stockings and not holdups. There is no way these would be able to stay up on their own; there is no silicone bands and there is no elastic in the band to make them sit up on their own. You DO NEED a suspender belt with this pair!!

The quality of these are pretty good. I won’t say incredible as they still have to up their game in my eyes, but they are good for what you pay for. They have plenty of stretch in them to suit double sizing and they really do hug the legs well. These can snag easily if you don’t take care of them as they are a matte finish with no coating to them, so do be careful.

The fit of these are true to size, and I felt I had enough room for these to sit anywhere I wanted them to on the legs. I normally sit my stockings higher up the legs, and I felt I could do so with these. The feel of them are a little grainy to touch, but it’s nothing that should irritate the skin (unless your skin is super sensitive). You have the backseams which are sewn on after to create a bump on top, so they stand out much more on the legs than sewn into the stockings.

I will say I do like the welt on these; you have the thick bands with a thinner denier reinforcement underneath and then the backseam leading off from all of that. It’s a simple pair for sure, but still has plenty going for it!

The Toes & Ankle: please excuse that I have no nail varnish on; I am making the most of being at home to just take a breather from all the beauty stuff us women do!

Anyways, these have reinforced toes as far as I know, however you will still need to be careful of long/sharp nails if you are slipping into a pair. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes and they did not feel cramped for a second.

Now I know this has invisible reinforced toes as the seam starts under my toes instead of the toe seam.

There is plenty of stretch in these so you get good coverage and a fitted finish around the feet and ankles too.

The Bands: now these are lovely; I love when I am working with deep bands, even if they are a solid colour. They sit well on the thighs and they stretch out as much as you need them to, so you get a comfortable hugging fit.

You have the backseam ending in these, which I like so there is no 0.5cm gap between the seam and the band (some brands do this).

My clasps hooked on well to these, and they did not budge once they were set in place. I really do like these and the fact you get to sit them as high or low as you want is a super bonus!

My Thoughts?

I will say these are a great pair of everyday stockings you could style with so many outfits. They are subtle, they are classy and that matte finish gives a lovely slimming finish on the legs. I would certainly recommend.
