Apologies for the late blog today, but I was having to much fun in these to get this written up in time! I am looking forward to trying these out, as I haven’t heard of Pearl & Poseidon doing shaping tights before.
Plus I’ve only ever done this brand as promos, so it’ll be nice to have it on the blog for a change. This pair was gifted off my Amazon Wishlist, and all details can be found below.
Size: One Size
Denier: Around 20
Materials: 66% Nylon & 34% Spandex
Okay so this outfit is something new for me; I don’t tend to do this style but I am so eager to pair these tights with my thigh high boots somehow. I know it isn’t winter appropriate, but I do not care! I went with an oversized shirt, paired with ripped shorts and added the thigh high boots to finish the look.
Shorts: Independent Brand
Tights: Pearl & Poseidon
Getting Them On: so these beauties were a breeze to get on. They have so much stretch to them (as you can tell below) and I didn’t have to tug at these when getting them on. I did my scrunch and roll to begin with, to get them past the anklets, and then it was a lovely glide right up.
On The Legs: so let me talk about the colour firstly. I felt these were too light for my skin tone, and it looked super weird against my hands and arms, so I had to keep them covered most of the day. I do feel they don’t look too bad with the boot son, but the naked leg in some shots, it really does look too light for me.
One thing I love about this pair is that shine. They have this subtle glossy look to them, and they really come to life when the flash hits. The shine is so lovely to see, and it really transforms the legs into party mode instantly.
The quality is not too bad I have to admit/ I felt this pair are good to work with, but I did have some issues with the stitching. I found if you were to add pressure, it would end up making these little lines in the tights. They aren’t holes – to be honest I don’t know what it is, but it does mess with the nylons. I knew then I had to be careful in them.
The fit was fine for me, however even though they state one size fits all – I think these would easy fit a medium and potentially a large at a push. I had plenty of stretch to them, and there certainly was no gapping around the knees.
The feel of these I have to say are so silky, and so soft against the skin you don’t feel like taking them of at the end of the day. I loved being in this pair, and that silkiness against the skin, and especially under thigh high boots is something else!
The Toes & Ankle: so these come with reinforced toes, which cover the toes well. I had plenty of wiggle room, and no pressure was added either. I like that they are not too dark, and blend quite well with the rest of the legs.
Around the feet and ankles, it was a smooth fitted finish with no wrinkling.
The Waistband & Gusset: now the waistband was the most annoying part of this pair. I had to deal with it siting super high on me, and not only that – it comes with a double back seam which I am not a fan of at all.
These do crinkle under clothing, as you can see below which was a little annoying but not much I could do about that. I had plenty of elasticity in the band, but I did feel them slip from time to time when I was on the move. Double back seams are not usually my friends – and it lied up to that name today.
Overall not a bad pair with a great glossy shine, but the waistband and back seas were a little annoying to deal with. I do like the fit of them, and the feel is just incredible too.
