Passion Sparkle Tights

I’m gonna keep that sparkle going with these tights! These are great for those darker months where you’re partying or going out, however as we couldn’t do much of that with the pandemic last year, I decided I am going to rock them on those brighter days, and let that sparkle do its thing!

I know a lot of people tend to wear these for occasions, however myself and some others really like to dress up or wear them to work all year round – This is a pair that shouldn’t be for one season only!

Anyways enough blabbing … Let me get reviewing!

Getting Them On: I had plenty of material in these tights for me to get them on without tugging them up the legs. I did my usual scrunch and roll up the legs, just letting go of the material on the legs bit by bit until I sat them around the waist. I found it a little odd, but I will work with that!

These were fine going on top of the anklets as well; they didn’t catch on or tug at them.

On The Legs: so I did a mix of flash and natural lighting images to show you that lovely shine these carry. Not only does it really make your natural leg shine come through, but the lurex pattern really gives it that boost. It isn’t too overpowering, which I like and it really is one that you wear whenever you like (if you like a good statement piece).

Now the quality of these are not bad. I say not bad because these didn’t snag easily, however I had a minor issue with the lurex. Normally I don’t have an issue with wearing tights that have lurex to them, however these were itching my legs constantly. They would be rubbing against my skin, causing me to scratch it constantly. I would definitely recommend a base pair underneath these to stop that from happening so much (it may not stop it completely depending on the denier you pair it up with, but it will ease it for sure)

What Is Lurex?

This is type of yarn made from synthetic film, with a metallic appearance (this can be gold or silver) and has been vapourised either with metallic aluminium, silver or gold.

The fit of these are great; as they are a duo size, it means there is plenty of stretch in them. I didn’t have to tug them up, so I gently rolled. I thought I would end up with slight wrinkling around the knees or ankles – nothing at all! They don’t move on the legs (I mean they stay sat in one place unless you move them yourself), which is great if you’re always on the move like I am.

The feel of them are soft on the actual tights, however the lurex can be slightly rough to touch. It isn’t the smoothest material unfortunately, but I suppose you need that for the effect on the legs here. Apart from that, they actually feel soft and smooth.

The design is one of my favourites, especially when I am after a statement piece. This is quite simple compared to ones I have, but it still gives off that ‘enough’ look. I love that swirly pattern that works from the toes all the way to the waistband – which makes it perfect to wear with shorter clothing (like I did).

The Toes & Ankle: as you can see these have a good section of reinforcement to them. I was pretty amazed at that, as normally they tend to be slightly shorter but I’m not complaining here. It might make it harder to wear closed heels that expose the toes a little as this will show through. It wasn’t too bad pairing it with my sandals as it flowed quite well.

Due to the duo sizing, the toes also have enough wiggle room to breathe and move without any pressure being added; they were super comfortable. Around the feet and ankles, it was a lovely fitted finish with no wrinkling.

The Waistband & Gusset: as you can see, the design works upto the waistband, which is great for shorter clothing but not so great when it’s itching away at you. This is where a pair underneath will really help!

The band itself it super stretchy and really comfortable, however it can roll down on itself unfortunately. But for the majority of the day, it did say flush against the waist. I do like the overall thickness; it is quite a slim band with a lovely amount of reinforcement underneath to give it support.

This does have a black gusset with it rather than a white/cream coloured one that you can sometimes get! This also sits flush against the skin and doesn’t shimmy down the legs!

My Thoughts?

I have to say I do like this pair, but it was the lurex that I’m not agreeing with here. I love the design; that sheerness with the sparkle and how great it looks on the legs. I would still recommend them as they are a great pair, but I would advise wearing a pair underneath just to stop the lurex attacking you!
