Oroblu Taylor Tights

Well aren’t these a little beauty? For ages I thought these were over-the-knee socks so I was waiting until Spring to pull these out to review … Low and behold they turned out to be TIGHTS! I cannot tell you how baffled I was – I should have read the packaging properly I suppose!

You gotta love Oroblu for  those little twists

These were from UKTights originally, however as they have sold out, I have popped down another supplier where you can purchase them from below 🙂

My Outfit

Why do I always do black?! I have no idea as this would have worked so well with colour added to it!!!

I wore my black skater mini dress paired with suede heels (but then changed into pumps for when I was doing errands). I wanted something that would how off the mock-socks well.

The Review

From The Website: Elegant Over The Knee Tights from Oroblu have a luxurious floral pattern cascading down the 90 denier opaque thigh high part. These sophisticated fashion tights give the appearance of over the knee socks decorated in a relief style with a sheer rose and stem design. The mock stay up is finished with a ribbed top cuff. The black mock sock is met with a 15 denier sheer thigh part that leads to the opaque V-line brief. Perfect for a special event or a high fashion everyday look. 93% Polyamide, 7% Elastane

The Packaging: now if you’re new to Oroblu, their packaging is gorgeous. Proper thick card on the outer packaging with the model on the front wearing the hosiery. The back goes into a little more detail about the hosiery along the composition, sizing guide and wash care.

When you get inside you will find these wrapped around card, and normally folded vertically so you have the foot and leg shaping to them. This doesn’t happen with all of them, but the majority especially when they are heavily designed.

I am still baffled that these are tights and not over-knee socks!

On The Legs: so getting these on are easy peasy. You just do the usual scrunch and roll up the leg, and you will find a section where the ‘socks’ have a ribbed area which then turns to nude sheers. Just take care at this part as the sheer is around 10-15 and can easily be snagged if you’re not careful!

As these are a size bigger than I normally am in Oroblu (these are a medium) I had more than enough material on the legs, which means I didn’t get a flush fitted finish on the legs as I would have liked. I wanted them slightly more stretched out so they didn’t cause wrinkles anywhere and they won’t be sitting higher on my thigh rather than around the knee.

The quality of them are stunning; I love Oroblu for that reason as you pay for what you get – and it’s damn good! I had no rips or snags on these after I had been in them for a day!

The fit of them would have been great if it was a size lower, but they’re still not bad considering I wore the next size up. They still hugged the legs well and wasn’t baggy or anything. They were comfortable to be in which is the main thing. One thing I do like is that I managed to keep these a block black on the legs – if I wore a size small I feel the black 90 denier part would have stretched out a lot making it a little sheerer than a block black.

The feel of them are super soft and real nice; both the thicker denier and nude sheer part. They were lovely to be in and kept the legs warm as well (well the sock part did)!

The design is just amazeballs – I have never come across a design like this before, and I absolutely love them! They’re unique, they’re perfect if you didn’t want to layer with tights (as it’s a 2-in-1) and overall they are incredible. I love the sheerer cut out patterns within the thicker denier to really make it stand out. These are obviously nude sheers but from far, it doesn’t look it at all.

The Toes & Ankle: so this is where I knew it was a size too big for me. The toes had some gaping material at the sides, which you can see below. They had plenty of wiggle room as well, but in court shoes the material scrunched right up around the toes which didn’t end up looking pretty.

Around the ankles, they do crinkle a lot I suppose I can’t really help that!

The Waistband: now the waistband was super comfy and felt like a dream to wear. They hugged the waist so well and I had no issues at all. The band didn’t dig into me at all and held up really well no matter how many times I pulled and tugged it.

What you can see  below is a massive ‘panty’ section, which works the front and back of the hosiery to give you complete coverage if you choose not to wear underwear and wanted to opt for shorter clothing. I loved this idea and thought it worked so well!

My Thoughts?

I absolutely love this pair! I love everything about them and how unique they are! This is certainly a pair I am recommending to you all!
