Oroblu Elena Ankle Highs

It has been a good while since I have been in ankle highs / socks, so I’m glad to be reviewing these. I had these from last year and just never had the proper chance to pull them out for reviewing until now. I decided to stay away from hosiery for a day and switch it to socks instead with a super casual outfit!

My Outfit

Let’s do another little twist – I used to do this back a few years back (without the socks though) as it was so comfy yet still had some sass to it.

I wore my crop t-shirt paired with my striped joggers and added some killer heels to the mix. I left my hair down (or you can do up) and added hoops to finish it off.

The Review

From The Website: Elena is the perfect example of contrasting colours. The almost impossibly sheer nude section of these ankle highs give the black bands a contrast that makes them look almost like a part of your own legs. The effect is a powerful one, giving your skin an almost tattooed look. Elena is a striking design that does so much for such a small item.

* Ultra sheer
* Stylish banding design
* Contrasting black heel & toe
* 96% Polyamide
* 4% Elastane

The Packaging: now I made a little boo boo with the packaging. As I got these so long ago (talking last year) and have only been able to review them now, I accidentally got rid of the packaging.

It came in an open cardboard piece where you can feel the socks, with the front and back being quite simple and straight to the point.

Getting Them On: it sounds silly, but I would still advice hosiery gloves with these as these are so thin and sheer, that they can still end up snagging if caught on anything. I used my silky gloves rather than my cotton so you have better grip.

These are fine over anklets as long as they aren’t sharp or can catch easily.

Around The Toes & Ankles: so as these just sit above the ankle, there isn’t really much to say like I normally do with a hosiery review, but I will try my best to be as thorough as I can!

So the denier of them, I am unsure but let’s say they’re around 15 as they are super delicate to touch. They are really sheer and nearly matches my skin colour depending on the lighting; in some cases, it can look a little pasty but otherwise it’s just about matching my colouring.

The design is such an elegant sporty type; this can easily be worn with a skirt of dress to make it feminine or how I am with joggers or jeans and trainers or pumps to make it more casual. Either way they are really versatile and I love them!

The feel of them are super soft and quite smooth, but I won’t say silky as your feet don’t slip around too much in them in footwear.

Around the toes, there is plenty of wiggle room here as these are one size. I thought they might be quite big, but as these are super elasticated, anyone should be able to war these with ease (unless you have really big or wide feet).

These also do have a cute toe and heel block design to them; the toe is a curved strip and the heel being more of a curved block at the back. I think (especially wearing heels) that it just adds to the look rather than sheer socks the whole way with the design just on the banding.

Speaking of the banding, these are great on the ankles; they aren’t too tight or too lose that they fall down, but more of a nice gentle hug. You don’t get any type of markings from the band when wearing these, which is always great!

Now let me mention that I did end up getting a snag or two in these, but the great news is that you can hardly see then due to the light colour. I didn’t class these as a major issue due to the fact that they are based around the feet so they won’t run as quick as they would on the leg. As soon as I spotted them, I instantly popped on some hairspray to stop them from becoming a massive run.

My Thoughts?

I think these are such a cute pair, which can be dressed in so many ways (as I mentioned previously). I just wish I got to do them a lot sooner than now. I will keep hunting for links so you all can purchase a pair!

The design is simple, but really effective depending on your footwear and choice of outfit, and that nude colour will (almost) suit every skin tone!

I would certainly recommend these!
