M&S Autograph Ladder Resistant Tights

Slipping back into a pair of high street branded tights. I got this pair from eBay as a seller had them on for cheap, and I thought why not 🙂 As much as I love doing known brands across the world, I also want to get into doing local brands that you find in high street stores. I have done a few from the UK before, and quite a few from USA too.

The Review

From The Website: There’s nothing worse than a ladder making its way across a pair of elegant tights, luckily our Ladder Resist finish stops holes from turning into ladders, keeping you looking elegant all day and night long. In a handy two pack, these sheer tights are an everyday essential for any feminine wardrobe.

The Packaging: what you see below is what you get. The front shows the model wearing them in black, with the brand and model name. I do like how they have shown the size, denier and colour chart on the front instead of looking at the back. It has has a small window at the front so you can check the colour inside.

When you get into these, you will find the wrapped in their own plastic packaging, and folded so they have foot and leg shaping to them.

Getting Them On: I gotta say I am not keen on this colour to be honest, but I will delve into that a little later.

So I did my scrunch and roll from the toes to the thighs, and did a little tugging up to make sure they are sitting well on the legs before I set into place. These were fine going over anklets as long as they are not sharp.

On The Legs: let me start off with the colour. This colour did nothing for me; if anything it made my legs look dirty. They were a light, off-beige-colour which did not work for my skin tone at all. Even with the flash on, they made the legs look whiter than what they are, and I was not comfortable to be honest. I like colours that are just like my tone or slightly darker, and this pair is just a no no in my eyes.

The quality of them are great though; I didn’t do a rip test to them as my dress was a little short and I didn’t want to be exposing my experiment to the world. But I will say it was quite hard to damage them. I suppose the matte finish to them helps in this case. I did have a good amount of stretch to these as well, so they hugged the legs nicely without any gapping.

The fit of them are true to size, and I would recommend checking the sizing guide before purchasing as brands do vary. The feel of them are quite nice, but they aren’t that silky smooth as they may look. I felt the matte finish to them, which does feel a little rough to touch. Inside the tights, these do feel the same but won’t irritate the legs as I was fine being in them all day without any issues.

The Toes & Ankle: I am impressed with. These have reinforced toe to them, but they are a darker denier and visible so not a great thing if you wanted to wear them with open toe sandals. I had closed toe court shoes on today, so it wasn’t much of an issue for me.

The toes had plenty of wiggle room to them, and there was no pressure added during the day either. The feet and ankles have a smooth and fitted finish to them, with no wrinkles appearing.

The Waistband & Gusset: so the band I have to say is comfortable and sit really well around the waist, but I had the issue of it rolling over itself for majority of the day. As the band is super soft and really thin, it was easy enough for this to happen.

I couldn’t say these shimmied down at any point as they stayed up around the waist all day. Under the band you will see faint reinforcement before it becomes sheer. This works in a T-Band form at the front and back of the tights.

The gusset is a pretty decent size, and sits flush against the skin too. As you can see, it’s breathable so you have the option to wear with or without underwear.

My Thoughts?

Not the best pair but they were pretty nice to wear. The colour really put me off, but if I was to try the in a colour that suited me I’m sure my view would change of them. Otherwise I quite liked them and would recommend them for sure.
