Merry Style Mock Stocking Tights

It feels like forever since I have done a pair of mock stocking tights. These I normally tend to wear when I’m on a casual vibe (well sometimes to work too) or when I’m lounging around the house. I thought they would be cute to pair up with a casual outfit today seeing as I am just mooching around the house.

This pair was also gifted from my Amazon Wishlist.

The Packaging: their packaging is always quite basic, to the point you never know what is actually inside. The front is as shown below; pretty standard and simple, and the back has the sizing guide and hosiery care.

When you get in, you will find the pair wrapped around plain card. Luckily there was no card inserted inside.

On The Legs: after you’ve got them on and set them in place, they do look really nice on the legs. I think the design is pretty subtle, compared to most styles you get out there, but I quite like that as it makes a change. It’s a simple block design from the toes to the knees, and then becomes a thinner denier with a suspender strap and then working back into a thick denier leading up to the waistband. The suspender part itself is simple, yet quite elegant. You get this design on the front and back.

The quality of these are not bad, but they could be better. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but you can tell where it becomes sheer on the thighs; that matte finish is not bad at all but it isn’t smooth, it isn’t appealing to look at. If anything it makes them look slightly cheap. On the bottom half of the legs, it isn’t bad; they are pretty thick and don’t ombre. The only time they do become slightly sheer is when the knees are bent.

Apart from all that, they haven’t been bad at all. They haven’t ripped or snagged whilst I’ve been in them, but I will say they catch dust super easy!

The fit of these are true to size, and I had so much elasticity in these to make sure they hug the legs really well. I didn’t find them loose around the knees or ankles, which is always a good sign. I would recommend checking their sizing guide before purchasing.

The feel of them are really soft, and super smooth to touch. I did enjoy wearing these as they were comfortable, but it was annoying that they kept catching dust or little particles all day, I had to keep wiping it away or picking at it.

The Toes & Ankle: so the toes have a proper thick reinforcement to them; as you can see below, they have this ribbed design to it, which caps the toes nicely. I was super surprised to see that, as I thought they would have been the same texture and denier as the bottom half of the legs. Apparently not…

I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to move, and no pressure was added either.

Around the feet and ankles, I am happy to say these were a smooth fitted finish with no wrinkles in sight.

The Waistband & Gusset: the band on these are amazing; they are nice and thick, ribbed and super comfortable to wear. I could easily move around in these without feeling restricted. They hugged the waist nicely as they had plenty of elasticity to them. I did not find these slipping down at any point whilst I was in them.

The gusset is a small cotton patch, located in the middle. These sit flush against the skin whilst you’re in them.

My Thoughts?

I gotta say they are a nice simple pair for sure, but I wish the thinner denier looked a little better so it complimented the mock stocking part. Apart from that, I would recommend these 🙂
