Day 16 of my shinies series brings us the black version of the MANZI Shiny Holdups – another wishlist favourite from Amazon that gives a totally different energy to the same classic silhouette. In black, the glossy sheen becomes much more striking, capturing light in a way that accentuates leg shape and adds a bold, statement‑ready edge to any outfit.
Like their natural counterparts, these feature a sheer, silky nylon build topped with a lace band lined with silicone meant to grip so the holdups stay up when you’re on the move. The Packaging
Getting Them On: I made sure that I had my hosiery gloves on this morning, to avoid any snags or damage whilst getting them on.
A scrunch and roll on both legs before setting them in place. I learnt from yesterday’s issue to just keep the bands overturned so they don’t cause mayhem again!
On The Legs: the quality of these are even worse than yesterday’s pair; they have even more patches to them which is even more visible as it’s on a darker denier. The bonus here is that I didn’t end up snagging them!
The fit of these are true to size, and I had enough stretch in these to achieve a even leg coverage. Once again, I did find a bit of gapping happen around the knee area.
If you are in-between sizes, I would advise going a size up just you have a little extra material to play with.
The feel of these are so silky soft on the legs, and feel really smooth to touch. These also have a coating on them to give that glossy shine, which I tried to capture in some images.
The Toes & Ankle: these come with non-reinforced toes. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.
Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish with a no wrinkling around the ankles.
The Bands: like yesterday’s pair, they have a lovely floral lace design to them, with a scalloped edge. These bands stand out a lot more, I mean black would right? They do look lovely as part of the overall look.
I had plenty of stretch in these bands too, and they held up so well during my wear today. I had no issues with the tackiness either.
My Thoughts?
The defects on the holdups really let these down for me, otherwise they are quite a nice pair and you can see the gloss a bit better than the nude pair. It’s a shame but there we are.
