House of Holland Checkerboard Tights

Back into bold patterns we go, and this time we are back visiting Henry Holland (aka House of Holland) with a statement pair. I came across these and I had to have them; they are just so playful and you could easily make this work dressed up or on a casual. I decided to dress them down and casual as I was out and about today.

The Review

From The Website:Part of the ongoing Pretty Polly and House of Holland collaboration, we are pleased to showcase Henry Holland’s marvelous designs as part of our collection.

This fun design is a real statement piece for those of you who want your legs to dazzle!

Available in one size.

91% Nylon 9% Elastane

The Packaging: so like most (if not all) of their packaging, it comes in small slim-sized boxes, with the model at the front and a bit about the brand at the back.

The only difference I found this time is that these didn’t have a tip on ‘how to get your hosiery on’ sticker to them which was odd seeing as most of their hosiery has this.

Once you get in, these are flat packed and wrapped around card.

On The Legs: I gotta say I am totally digging these. I love that real bold design, with the thicker denier boxes against the sheer. It works so well!

The quality of these are real good; they are really elasticated (well they have to be for a ‘one size’ pair) so you will have enough to pull up and around the legs if needed. I gotta say I didn’t snag these at all throughout the day.

The fit of these are real good – especially being a slimmer leg. If you are a larger size, then these will also work for you, but bear in mind that the cubes will stretch out a lot more. I am hoping it will still keep it’s shape and not become rectangular! The best part is that you don’t need to ‘line them up’ like you would with other patterned hosiery. This is a pair it doesn’t matter if it twists a little as you can say ‘it’s part of the design’

The shine on these I need a separate section, as I thought these were a matte finish on the legs. It certainly looked it from far until I got the flash on them and saw that they have a shine. I was very impressed!

The Toes & Ankle: so the toes I think come reinforced – well they have a dark enough strip going across them, so I am hoping they are! They have plenty of wiggle room in them and no extra material hanging out anywhere either.

Around the ankles, they are a lovely smooth finish.

The Waistband: now I thought I was going to have issues with the band falling down being one size – but actually they held up so well that the gusset sat flush against me!

These come quite high on me as you can see below; over belly button level for sure, however this will depend on your hip and waist size.

These are very comfortable to be in, and I had no issues with it rolling down on itself or slipping during the day, which is always a nice thing!

My Thoughts?

One of my favourite playful pairs to date! I love how bold and playful they are, and the fact that you can dress these however you like. I will certainly be wearing these to work for sure let alone casual outfits!

I would certainly recommend them 🙂
