The Gocbobo Oil Shine Tights on my Instagram were a huge hit with you all (well I think the new angles played a HUGE part in that!) so I wanted to bring a unique pair to the blog for an in-depth review!

I went glam work mode today, showing off this pair. I went with my Wolford bodysuit, paired with my sequin skirt and I added mid slingbacks to finish the look. I didn’t wanna give off party vibes again with higher heels!

The Packaging

Getting Them On: so I didn’t realise these were seamed on both the back and front, which took me by surprise. I was following the leg shape that they had to get them on, forgetting that I had to step into the suspender belt part. I did my usual scrunch and roll, taking care going over my anklets whilst getting them on. I did pop on a pair of hosiery gloves with these, as I didn’t want to cause any snags before I even started my day.

I got the seams as straight as I could, set them in place and got dressed.

On The Legs: now these are something. I have never seen a pair like this before, and we have a lot going on! We have double seams, we have a glossy shine, we have a 5 denier finish and we have suspender straps and a belt to work with. Honestly it is amazing, however it’s not all that it’s piped up to be. The quality… SUCKS! I got so many snags, and also a lovely big hole a few hours after I slipped into them this morning. They catch on things VERY easily, like my handbag, the side of a chair, inner tags on coats. I found any little thing can cause damage to these, which is not something I am impressed with. I ended up with such chaos on my legs, and that gaping hole on my lower leg is not pretty! I felt really let down by this pair. Cherry on top was that I ended up with weird markings and discolouration on random parts of my legs too; on the tights as well as my skin. SO. NOT. COOL.

The fit of these are one size fits all, which to be honest I feel people with bigger legs are going to struggle. I just about managed to stretch these out this morning to get them on, and that’s just with my leg size. Realistically, this is more for S-M. I had just about enough stretch for my legs, with a little thigh meat hanging out from the top. Thank goodness I wasn’t wearing anything super fitted, otherwise this would show right through.

The feel of them are super smooth, and that gloss is lovely. You also do feel the stitching of the seams when you run your hands over it too, on both front and back.

The Toes & Ankle: so we have no reinforcement here, which is a massive shame. I would prefer them to have some reinforcement considering that hole only started to get larger on my legs as the day went on, so the feet would be such an issue.

I didn’t have as much wiggle room as I hoped for; these were quite tight around the toes, and they did feel cramped from time to time, where I had to pull the tights to release some pressure.

Around the feet and ankles, I did have a smooth, wrinkle-free finish though which was great.

The Waistband: so this is what we are working with – the suspender belt. I have a strap at the front and back which is held by this bodice. I do like this element as it is different and practical at the same time. It did hold up really well during my wear, which I was happy about.

There isn’t much stretch to this part; I just about wiggled in myself and slid it on my waist.

I did like that this sat in place the whole time, without it moving around, shimmying down or anything else. I will say no big lunches or dinners wearing this as there isn’t much give.

My Thoughts?

A total let down. I love the whole concept, but honestly there was no quality found in these. I felt let down by the stockings, and the suspender belt part just about fit me ok.
