Back in Gipsy we go after a good while of not being in them. I got these gifted from my Amazon wishlist and I had to do a review as these are supposed to be ultra sheer. And as they were pretty cheap to get (details are below), I wanna see if they’re worth it or just damn rubbish!

Before I start, can I please say sorry for the bites on my legs?! Croatia was stunning, but the mosquitoes were getting a bit too friendly!

The Review

From The Website: Gipsy’s Translucent tights have a large, loyal following, and now they’re back in a choice of eight colours. 10 denier appearance with a glossy sheen.

The Packaging: so not gonna lie, but this is something new. These came in such a small pocket-sized box, where the tights are basically stuffed inside! There is no plastic packaging, no card…Nothing!

There isn’t much detail about the hosiery on either side of the box, so you just get in and get them on!

As you can see from the images below, these are scrunched folded, with no shaping to the legs or feet.

 

On The Legs: I gotta say these are certainly sheer to the point you can barely see it! I used a mix of flash and natural lighting so you can see the difference.

The denier being 10 is pretty sheer, giving you that dusty smoke look on the legs. The quality however isn’t too great; I managed to snag these pretty easily.

The fit and feel of them are great to begin with – until 1 hour later when you’ve worn them. They stretch out quite easily and then leave a slight baggy mess on your legs; they start to loosen up around the knees (and the thighs if you’ve stretched them out a little too much). Not a great fan of these to be honest, but then again these are so cheap it doesn’t matter in that sense.

The colour is real nice; I thought it would be quite grey and hard to work with, but actually it isn’t bad at all. They are so faint and look more like they’re verging on nearly black, it works!

What I do like about it is that it has a real nice shine to them when the flash hits it; looking quite natural than a proper in-your-face kinda thing!

 

The Feet & Ankles:so luckily these are reinforced! They have a thin strip going across the top of the toes where the denier becomes thicker (around 20-30 possibly). This covers the front and the back (in case you didn’t know!)

I basically had no issues with this section whatsoever as you can tell from the images below; no snags, no pulls or rips!

Around the ankles, these sit flush with no signs of any wrinkles either.

 

The Waistband: so the band is pretty decent. They have plenty of elasticity in them and hold up the hosiery well during the day. They have a boxer brief, so they are reinforced all around the top part ending at the bottom of your tushy.

There’s not much more to say if I am honest; they did a good job!

 

My Thoughts?

Overall for what they are worth, they are ok and decent enough to wear one or two times. I cannot see these lasting a wash to be honest due to how sheer they are and how easily they can snag.

I just hope the black ones I have are better!
