Day 2 in my Gio Stockings, and this time we are in a gorgeous rich colour known as Chocolate. I could not wait to try these out, considering these will give such a beautiful colour on the legs. I wanted to try something different and pair it with some bold colours this time instead of playing it safe, so let’s see how we go.
This pair was gifted once again by a friend, and I managed to get hold of a link where you can purchase a pair in the ‘Spec’ section.
If you haven’t seen my previous reviews, you can hit the links below (opens in a new tab) or you can just pop in Gio in the search bar:
Materials: 100% Nylon
Website: Gio Stockings – RHT Stockings
I paired up a satin open back crop top with my high waisted cerise pink pencil skirt and added my nude coloured jelly sandals.
Crop Top: Femmeluxe
Skirt: Miss Selfridge
From The Website: Our Reinforced Heel and Toe (RHT) stockings are seam free and manufactured on original Pendolina knitting machines. These are a popular style for those wanting the 1950’s look without a seam or heel. They are sheer 15 denier stockings made from 100% Nylon with a Reinforced Heel and Toe. We have an excellent colour choice from subtle to bold and a range of suspender belts to finish the look.
The Packaging: is pretty simple and what you normally get with Gio. I won’t go into much detail, so please see the images below to show how how I unpacked them.
What I will say is that these came with a few snags, which I will show you up close a little further down.
Getting Them On: I wore my hosiery gloves to get these on as I didn’t want to create any additional snags in these. These slipped right on the legs and were fine going over anklets too.
On The Legs: well let me start of by saying this colour is DIVINE! I never though chocolate could look this good. It looks like a mad tan on the legs, but I love how rich and luxe they look against the cerise pink skirt.
The quality of these I would like to say are amazing, but as these snag pretty easily, I would be lying. I managed to get a few more and ended up creating a whole rip along the side of my leg! So I wasn’t too impressed to be honest.
The fit of these were a little large for me, but I didn’t mind it as it wasn’t a great amount of extra material. I felt comfortable enough in them without feeling restricted, which is the main thing. The feel of them are lovely and smooth on the legs, but with the snags they started to become a little rough in these areas.
I also made a little video of undressing my legs, seeing as I haven’t done one of these for a while…
The Toes & Ankle: so the toes as you can see are reinforced, along with the heels. These are a thicker denier compared to the rest of the feet, and I really do like this contrast. You can either hide it or work with it to create a stunning look.
I had plenty of wiggle room around the toes and they didn’t feel cramped at all during the day. They didn’t move much either in my shoes, which I was pleased about.
Around the feet and ankles, they have plenty of room for the feet to breathe and no pressure is added. I did have a wrinkle or two around the ankles when I was walking but nothing major.
The Bands: once again we are working with nice thick bands here; contrasting to the legs which I adore. The bands are reinforced and a thicker denier so you can claps onto them well without destroying them.
Now as you can see, there are a lot of snags around this section. I can’t even tell you how as I don’t even know myself but luckily they were hidden under my skirt. You will also see the side ladder just sitting under the band too.
Apart from that, the bands are great and stretch out to fit your thighs. They are comfortable and didn’t give me any trouble whilst I was in them.
I gotta say I adore this colour; it’s certainly one of my favourites and I will need to invest in Chocolate a lot more! Apart from that, these snagged way too easily and formed ladders which I am super upset about. I would loved to have worn these out a lot more but I don’t see that happening now!
