I am getting back into Gio stockings, and I cannot wait to tell you all about this review. I tested out one of their Jade pairs recently (it can be found on my social media platforms) and I absolutely fell in love. So this promoted me to ty out another exciting colour they offer too!
If you missed some of my Gio reviews, you can catch them below (opens in a new tab) or search using the bar on the side:

My Outfit
If you find it hard to pair up blues, I always end up doing monochrome. I pared up my blue shift dress with my white ankle strap heels to create a smart casual look. If you are too scared to add a pop of colour like I did, you can always switch to a more low-key colour.

The Review
From The Website: Our classic Cuban heel stockings are defined by a darkened reinforced Heel design finishing in a square top. The Cuban Heel is much thinner and finishes higher up the leg than the Havana Heel. These genuine Fully Fashioned stockings are made from 100% Nylon and are manufactured on original Reading machines in England. They are the perfect way to finish off your look with a touch of the 1950’s. We recommend our Fully Fashioned stockings to be worn with one of our 6 strap suspender belts to enhance the look of the stocking and to ensure a secure fit. These sheer stockings are 15 denier.
The Packaging
Getting Them On: as these are super delicate and 100% nylon – I had to take extra care getting these on. I got my hosiery gloves on and did my scrunch and roll. I took my time as I had a backseam to work with, making sure I get that as straight as possible.
These were fine going over anklets, as I took care to make sure they don’t snag against them.

On The Legs: I have to start off with the colour – how INCREDIBLE is this blue?! I fell in love with it as soon as I set my eyes on them. They are so vibrant, yet subtle and not too overpowering. I love how the RHT, backseam and welts are a darker colour to really bring it altogether. This is not a colour that is widely worn, as it can be difficult to pair up; I wanted to keep it simple to show you all you can do an outfit with them without having to work with too many colours and styles.
The quality of these are lovely. They have totally upgraded their quality since I reviewed them a while ago, and I have never been happier. These will snag if you don’t take care, as I managed to when I broke my nail during the day and accidently touched my stockings with it. Otherwise if you take care, these will also do the same for you.
I am super pleased with the sizing too – I am between 9 and 9.5, however the 9 was a perfect fit with very little wrinkling. These fit to my legs really well, and didn’t feel tight at any point either. I was scared that it might as I have experienced that before with size 9, however these were spot on. There was very minimal gapping (this naturally occurs as there is no stretch in these) so you get a lovely fitted finish.
The feel of them are super silky, and so soft against the skin. These certainly don’t irritate, and these also sit really well if you have creamed your legs beforehand. I try and not cream before I get my stockings on as it can mess with them and they don’t sit right, but it was fine with this pair. They still glided right on and didn’t tug either.
The Toes & Ankle: now here is where the party is at! We are working with a great RHT, with a backseam working through it all. They cover the toes really well, and there is plenty of wiggle room. I also didn’t have any issues with pressure being added during the day.
These also curve around the heel really nicely and evenly, so if you are showing it off, it will look even.
These lead into a Cuban heel design at the back, which I think looks stunning. I wore ankle strap shoes which covered most of it, but I would easily wear these with mules so it shows the whole design off.
Around the feet and ankles, there was very little wrinkling and it was a smooth finish. I was very impressed.
The Bands: so these welts are a nice size, and they stretch out to fit your thighs. These will stay that stretched once you take them off, as there is no elasticity to ring them back into shape. I found mine to fit me perfectly, without it feeling too loose or tight.
One thing I really did like is the keyhole at the back. I opted to clasp it here, but you don’t need to if you don’t want to. It just gives that lovely vintage effect.
So the welt is a darker blue shade, with the reinforcement underneath that shades a little lighter. I really liked the way these were stitched and finished. I had no issues at all with any gapping in stitching or uneven-ness.
My Thoughts?
Absolutely love this pair! I love the fit, the colour and the way I was able to spend all day in them without any major issues. This is one pair that I will happily brag about!
Easily one of your best posts Miss Soni…. and I’ve seen a few 🤭
