Gerbe Plumetis Tights

Oh Gerbe, I am happy to get my legs into another pair you produce! I love this brand, and today I fancied dressing up a little. I do love me some polka dots, and when I saw this pair on Amazon, I had to add it to the wishlist to review.

This is another pair that was gifted a while ago, and I managed to get hold of the details of a stockist that still supplies them!

The Packaging

Getting Them On: these are a pair where the hosiery gloves come out to play. I did my scrunch and roll, and slowly worked then up the legs. I took care going over my anklets, and slowly tugged the up the legs until they were in place.

I had no issues with my anklets in this pair.

On The Legs: I am here for this chic polka dot look that’s currently going on! I love how stunning it looks on the legs, against that silky denier to really make it stand out. The design starts from the reinforced toe and works right upto the waistband.

The quality of this pair is not upto its normal standard, which is a shame. I found markings around the the top of the tights, which won’t seem to go when rubbed. I found it in other parts but managed to smooth it away, but this doesn’t seem to want to go. I did roll them down and back up again, but it stayed put. Luckily I didn’t have any snags to accompany this but it’s still a shame when they are such a beautiful pair to work with.

The fit – just about fit me. I realised this is a size down from what I normally get, and there was little stretch to work with. I needed 2 rather than 1 (1 is X-Small) which I found I had to tug quite a bit to sit in place. Once on, they were fine but I had to make sure that I didn’t do anything strenuous just in case they end up ripping due to being tugged on too hard.

The feel of these are so lovely; they are soft, smooth and really nice to be in. They don’t irritate the skin at all, and you can hardly feel them during the day.

The Toes & Ankle: now this is something that Gerbe does that I still can’t get my head round. Their reinforced toe is completely sheer as shown below, and the dots start from thereon. Seeing it without shoes on, it looks super weird. I did also manage to get a few sags here too!

Around the toes, I had enough wiggle room for my toes, but I did feel a little pressure put onto them during my wear. I suppose this is what smaller sizing does…

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish with no wrinkling. If anything it was super fitted.

The Waistband & Gusset: now we have a great waistband here, and one I have not seen before. When I first saw these, I found the waistband to be like what you see on leggings. It’s thick, holds in place and has the branding on the left hand side. I like the waistband as it’s one that won’t roll or shimmy down. If anything it stayed in the exact spot all day long.

It comes with reinforcement underneath before it works into the polka dot base.

These come with a cotton gusset, that is the same colour as the hosiery. This sits flush against the skin and does not move during the day.

My Thoughts?

This is such a beautiful pair, and I so wish I got them in Small and not XS just so they can last a lot longer. I love the look and I love this brand.
