Well this does make a very nice change; I always tend to do stockings in the Gerbe brands, and this is the first time EVER that I am doing them as tights (or pantyhose). At first I thought they would have been stockings, until I fully checked out the packaging and then realised they are tights!!

I gotta say I quite like this combo; it’s super soft and so feminine too. I paired up a sheer pink top (with a cami underneath) and tucked it into my skirt. I added nude pink heels to finish off the look nicely.

The Packaging: I gotta say I love this vintage packaging! The model wears the tights on the front, along with the brand name and size. Flipping over, you see a larger window along with the sizing guide and a little description about the tights.
When you get in, you will see these are folded around card wrapped in tissue paper to protect the tights from being damaged. I do like that the card gives you instructions on how to get them on (this is awesome for people who are getting into hosiery).
The tights come with foot and leg shaping to them so you know which way to get them on.
Getting Them On: I took my time getting these on as they are super delicate, but let me say I had so much going on; I had to roll up, but also pay attention to the backseam too. I had to have eyes all over to make sure I gt these on as straight as possible.
On The Legs: let me start off with this wonderful design I am working with today. So we have polka dots at the front with an ankle rose. When you turn around, it becomes plain with a backseam. I do love this contrast and think it works so well. It has a lot going on, but you know what? I think it works so well and looks super awesome. To help it, I like the fact it’s this blush pink colour rather than a deeper richer colour; the light pink make sit subtle but still a good statement piece.
The quality is amazing on this pair; you can instantly tell when you hands first touch them. That is one thing I like about Gerbe. These had enough stretch for my leg length and they did not snag or rip easily either. I was scared that they might, but in fact they didn’t at all.
The fit of these are true to size, and I would recommend checking out the sizing guide before you purchase. These fit me really well, and I can say this size won’t really work well if you’re in-between sizes.
The feel of them are so soft and lovely to touch. The polka dots and the backseam are sewn in so they are raised ever so slightly, but not much compared to other brands where it really does pop out. These do not irritate the legs either, and they are a pleasure to be in.
Oh goodness – I forgot to add that I used a mix of flash and natural lighting so you can see what they look like. With the flash on, they do have this lovely shimmer to them, which makes them even greater!!
The Toes & Ankle: we also have an amazing foot part as well on these. We have reinforced toe caps, with a backseam underneath leading to the reinforced heel. This then leads onto the longer seam that works its way to the band.
I am loving this detail let me just add; there’s a lot going on but it works so well!
The toes had plenty of wiggle room to them, and no pressure was added either. It was a lovely fitted finish around the feet and ankles too.
Another great thing; these have the brand based at the bottom of the ankles / top of the heel! That is something I have never seen before, and I absolutely love it!
The Waistband & Gusset: can this pair get any better? Yes it sure can. We have the pair sheer to waist; so the polka dots at the front work up to the band and so does the backseam located at the back. I swear this has to be my favourite!!!
The band itself is slim, with the Gerbe branding going around. This reminds me of Wolfords; they do this and I do love it. It holds up so well on the waist and there is n signs of it shimmying down or rolling over itself during the day.
The gusset is a small palm-sized patch which is made of cotton, so you have the option to wear it with or without underwear.
If you can get your hands on a pair, then please do so as I love this pair with a passion!
