Gerbe Fatal 15 Holdups

It’s been some time since I have been in Gerbe, and I am super happy to be able to review them again. Gerbe is known to be quite prestige, especially with the price tag they come with but I always like to find out if they are worth it and what makes them so different to other similar styles you can get from other brands.

My Outfit

I decided to dress my holdups up today by wearing my foil printed dress and added some textured mules so I could leave the heel design showing at the back.

The Review

The Packaging: if you haven’t come across Gerbe before, this is basically what their packaging looks like. It’s pretty enticing to be fair with a simple look all over. The model wears the holdups on the front and the back goes into a little more detail.

When you get in, you will find these folded around plain card and the silicone bands have a small piece of card in-between them as well so you don’t have to pry them apart like you do for all holdups.

Getting Them On: now these are pretty delicate, so hosiery gloves should be on for these. I made sure that I used my satin ones so I could do my backseam properly.

I took my time getting these over my anklets and then up the legs. I managed to get both legs straight, but as I had to roll them down a few times when I went to the ladies, the seam ended up a little wonky on one leg!

On The Legs: so let me mention that these were a tad too small for me, purely because I couldn’t sit them any higher on my legs so they were mid thigh on me. Not only that I had to make sure that I didn’t stretch them too much that they start to gradually rip in parts.

The denier is perfect for that sleek sheer coverage as shown below. I had no issues with that at all and it worked perfectly with the outfit. The quality of these were OK let me just say. I was impressed but not massively, as I had seen weird markings when I was rolling these up the legs. At first I thought I tugged too much, but then I realised once you run your hands over them and smooth it away, it disappears slightly. I spent a good while doing this!

The fit of them are true to size, and I wish I went one size up so they sat higher on me. I would recommend getting a hold of the sizing guide before purchasing – which was my mistake here!

The feel of them are great; they are silky smooth and perfect to run your hands up and down on. I thought they were great to be in regardless, but the markings were a little issue that I couldn’t get over, especially with how pricey they are!

The backseam is great, and this is one where it sits in place and doesn’t wiggle around when you’re on the move. I ended up doing one slightly bent once I rolled it down, so that was my error there otherwise these have been great to me!

The Toes & Ankle: well let me tell you how weirded out I was with this to begin with. I thought I did something wrong until I realised that it’s supposed to look like this! Around the toes, it becomes super sheer and light before it works into a thicker denier, which I don’t get why they have done it in the first place. Thank goodness that I had closed toe shoes on with these otherwise I wouldn’t know what the think.

Now these did have some wiggle room, but not as much as I would have liked. They were quite fitted around the toes, so I had to keep pinching them away a few times during the day to release some built up pressure.

Around the feet and ankles, it was a lovely fitted finish.

Now the heel, you need to make sure that it covers properly so you get the backseam to line up well. I forgot about it on one leg and had to start again!

The Bands: let’s just take a moment to appreciate the band though. This is one luxe band right here, and let me say that these hold up extremely well. I had no issues at all with this band – taking off and putting back on multiple times. It held so well and that gorgeous delicate lace design just tops it off. It’s quite deep so if you’re not used to these bands, I would note this down. Otherwise I fell in love with them!

My Thoughts?

Okay so not the best pair in my eyes, but still quite decent. I don’t think these are worth their price tag, but hey you pay for the brand name sometimes. I thought the quality could have been a little better (especially with the markings when you roll them on) and that weird toe thing otherwise I wouldn’t have had anything bad to say!
