Gabriella Lima Holdups

Yep this isn’t a work outfit today, purely because I really wanted to wear my new skirt. I decided to glam up a tad and work from a coffee shop instead. These holdups and skirt were both gifted via Amazon so I thought it was fitting to get them both in the same blog.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: no hosiery gloves could save me from the amount of aggro I had this morning getting them on. I did my scrunch and roll up the legs, going slowly over my anklets to make sure that I don’t end up snagging these. I did, I ended up snagging them all up the leg.

Whilst I was setting them in place on the thighs, I noticed that there was a small hole in-between the thigh design and I ended up making that hole slightly bigger when I was adjusting the silicone. So not a good start to my morning to be honest.

On The Legs: let me start off with the design – because it is actually stunning. I love the floral print at the side of the ankles, and then again around the thighs just under the welt. I prefer it being a side piece instead of at the front, it works so well and its something a little different. Plus it works well with a lot of footwear, especially court shoes and sandals.

The quality is just bad; I don’t have anything nice to say about it to be honest. They snag and rip easily, which is not something I expect from a pair. I have reviewed Gabriella before, and absolutely loved them because their quality was on point; I feel they missed the memo with this one.

The fit of these are true to size, and had enough stretch so I could sit them higher up the thighs so it doesn’t look too revealing with a mini skirt. I did find there was no gapping behind the knees or around the ankles which is great.

The feel of them are pretty nice; they are soft and smooth to touch and you can feel the stich on the floral design. They also don’t irritate the legs either, which helps in this heat.

The Toes & Ankle: I would like to think these have reinforced toe, as it does shade lighter than the rest of the legs but I am unsure, and don’t want to assume. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a lovely smooth finish with no wrinkling.

The Bands: I was so disappointed here. Not only did I have a mix of snags and small holes, but I ended up creating a bigger hole because my thumb slipped right through. I felt the material around the welt was thin and quite poor; especially for this to happen.

The silicone bands were not bad; they did prise away from my thighs a few times during the day. It wasn’t too bad that it completely came off, but I did find bits where it peeled off and was just hanging.

The welt itself is really nice, and has a lovely floral design to it, which works well with the thigh pattern.

My Thoughts?

These really let me down to be honest, and not a pair I would recommend. I love the design and the thigh pattern, but everything else really let me down today.
