Gabriella Katia Stockings

Now lets bring the stockings out to play! I have been waiting for so long to start wearing nudes once again, and it’s even better that the sun is out so much more that tans and glosses can also come out to play!

These beauts I got from eBay however as they are no long available, I popped down a link where they do currently have some in stock!

My Outfit

I decided to go cute today, pairing striped with statement block-coloured skater skirts and adding nude pumps. I wanted to look all summery yet appropriate for work.

I kept my hair down and straight, and added small studs to finish off the look. You can always add chokers or longer necklaces to make it dressier.

The Packaging: quite seductive looking isn’t it? Especially with the darker tones and all! The model wears the stockings on the front in black, and if you flip over you see the colour through the window in the packaging.

It goes into a little more detail about the hosiery at the back… And also letting you that a suspender belt is required and the toes are reinforced with those little symbols under the window.

When you get in, you will find these flat folded and wrapped neatly around card.

Now if you look at the bottom right hand picture, this is what I tend to do in the evening before I wear my stockings; I always get them ready and set up so all I have to do is glide them on, hook up my belt and job done. It means less faffing around and more time to get those snaps in!

On The Legs: so I used a combination of natural lighting and flash so you can see the slight difference in terms of that shimmer. It’s quite matted I admit but you do get it slightly here and there.

The denier is perfect for giving your legs a lovely ‘make-up’ look, making them look flawless. I have to admit I wasn’t too keen on the colour to begin with as it looked like a ‘dirty’ sandy colour, but they grew on me as I wore them during the day.

The quality is decent too; I won’t say it’s fantastic as they are pretty basic, but good enough to certainly get a few wears out of them. I didn’t get any snags or rips, which is great as the last thing I need is holes in these!

If you see the top left picture, I did a bare leg (left) vs nylon leg (right) so you can see the colour difference. It’s not major here, but trust me when I say this morning due to darker lighting, it looked so off!

The fit of these were spot on for my sizing; they had enough stretch to cover my legs enough and make them sit higher on my leg, but I would recommend going one up if you are in-between sizing or not too sure. The feel are real nice too; more on the leg rather than the welt to be honest. I will explain a little further down.

The Toes & Ankle: so the toes are reinforced which is great (and massive apologies for the chipped nail varnish!) and it has that sandal toe look so you can wear these with open toe heels or sandals too!

There was plenty of wiggle room in these and no pressure was added around the toes either, so they’re comfortable to be in throughout the day.

Around the ankles, these had a lovely fitted finish.

The Bands: so the welt is cute but quite non-descript. I found them to be quite boring and it doesn’t look as appealing as on the packaging. I thought it would be slightly thinner in denier but it was quite thick with the floral lace pattern getting lost in it all from the band down. Don’t get me wrong it’s cute and simple, but I just wasn’t feeling it as much as I thought it would.

Also this is exactly what I mean with that dingy colour. I am glad that my skirt was long enough so this wasn’t exposed. The tops were not appealing at all!

However in terms of being held up, this is the perfect material for metal (and even plastic) clasps to grip onto to get that extra holding power. I had no issues with this part at all.

My Thoughts?

Overall I do like these and they work so well for the office, but the band is just not my friend. I don’t like them at all, and think they could look so much better and really emphasise the stockings.
