Fiore Candy Tights

Candy legs here we come!

I’m feeling a little blah doing work outfits at the moment, hence why you will see me wearing black a little more. I suppose it’s me feeling a little uninspired, especially as I am trying to do a wardrobe clean out, and it doesn’t help I have a lot of black clothing in-between it all.

Anyways onto the review we go!

The Review

From The Website: Fiore Candy patterned tights have a striking, spiral strip look – similar to a Candy cane! The black opaque, graphic ribbon wrap design on these silky, sheer 20 denier tights will look fabulous with heeled pumps and a little black dress! Finished with a t-band reinforcement at the waist, flat seams and an invisibly reinforced toe. A cotton gusset features in size Medium and Large. 90% Polyamide 10% Elastane

The Packaging

Getting Them On: these have a lot of material to them, to the point when I hold them next to me, they go past my waist! This means there is little elasticity in them and more material to work with to compensate.

I did my scrunch and roll, and started getting them up the legs. I did take care going over my anklets, and then shimmied them up the legs before setting them in place.

On The Legs: oh this candy stripe design is so cool! I tried to line it up so it’s symmetrical on either side, but that flopped when I started my day. They slowly fell into place and I ended up with semi-symmetrical instead. I do like how bold the design is; the base is 20 denier and the strips are at least 60 denier. The striped are quite thick and widely spread on the legs too, which at first I thought it was too much for my legs, but I ended up really liking it.

The quality of these could be a lot better; I liked that these lasted quite well before I ended up with a few snags. I love Fiore but I felt these lacked in the quality department; I found so many bits that bothered me – the stripes are wobbly and uneven, and barely finished. There were some places where the sheer base had markings and random pieces of fluff just scattered around.

The fit of these are true to size, and I felt I had enough material to achieve even coverage. I liked that I wasn’t left with am ombre finish on the legs; it looks super even and I’m happy with that. I will say due to the lack of elasticity, I would advise sizing up if you are in-between sizes, just so you’re not having to tug at them whilst getting them on and risk ruining them at the first chance.

The feel of them are nice; the base are super smooth and really work well against the skin. The thicker stripes you can tell are softer and don’t cause any irritation either.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes, which are supposed to be invisible but you can notice them as they are a darker shade across the toes.

I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear. I also had a smooth finish with minimal wrinkling around the feet and ankles.

The Waistband & Gusset: the design stops at the top of the thighs (or just under the tushy) before it becomes sheer to the waist. The waistband itself is pretty decent, with a reinforced band sitting underneath it. I did find the band does turn over itself a little, and it does wrinkle down (as shown below) which sucks.

I did have enough stretch in them so it hugged the waist during the day – bonus point there.

These don’t come with a cotton gusset – it is a simple reinforced seam that works front to back.

My Thoughts?

As much as I love the design and how bold they are, I found them to be quite flawed. Normally Fiore put out some great pieces, but these lacked in the quality department.
