So I decided to switch up brands a little, and try a pair from Dorothy Perkins instead. This is just a regular clothing store for those of you who may not have heard of this clothing brand before.
I’ve missed doing the smaller brands, so here we are!
Materials: 90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
Website: Private Seller
Keeping it light and minimal for work today. I paired up my white jumper with my tweed wrap skirt. I added my nude patent heels to finish the look.
Skirt: Miss Selfridge
Tights: Dorothy Perkins
Getting Them On: I did my scrunch and roll, taking care going over my anklets. After I got past that part, it was an easily glide up the legs. I did have to tug a little, but nothing worth getting annoyed over.
On The Legs: well these are looking pretty good I must say! I do feel pairing it with lighter colours helps the colouring to pop. I tried these on with a black dress to begin with, and they looked way too light for my skin tone (basically it looked like white dust all over my legs!) I am glad I switched my outfit to this instead, as it looks a lot better. Let me just mention this nude shade is made ‘one for all’ here.
The quality of these are not bad for what you pay for. They are a great pair if you only need a few wears from it as I don’t see these lasting many wears and washes. They were great for today’s outfit, and I managed to keep them snag and rip free too. Luckily these are a 2pair pack, so I do have a back up pair in my handbag in case of any emergencies.
The sad part is that when I came back, I realised that I managed to get a small pull in them. Luckily it didn’t turn into anything…
The fit of these were great. They were the right size for me, and I had enough stretch in them for even leg coverage. I did have to tug at them when I first got them on, however it was fine during the day as they had stretched out a little.
The feel of them are not too bad; they do have a grainy feel to them. I believe these have a matte finish to them, hence why they don’t feel super silky smooth. I am happy that these don’t irritate the legs, as I thought they might during the day.
The Toes & Ankle: these don’t have reinforced toes as far as I am aware. This is a shame as having that added feature would benefit these tights a lot more!
I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and there as no pressure added during the day. Around the feet and ankles, it was a smooth and fitted finish.
The Waistband & Gusset: has a decent band on them, and I am so glad. The band has plenty of stretch in them, and these sit on the waist without budging. I did think they would loosen during the day, but that wasn’t the case!
We also have a boxer brief / also knows as a reinforced section from the top thigh to the waistband, so the denier becomes thicker here.
The gusset is non-existent here; there is a seam from the front to the back instead.
So not a bad pair if you’re after a pair with less durability. These did the job for me today, however I feel it wouldn’t be the same for the next 5 wears and washes. The bonus is that you get 2 pairs in a pack. I would still recommend, but hesitantly!
