Chictry Glossy Silk Stockings

So I am back in Chictry (I did a Christmas video of me wearing them in white in a thicker denier) and as I liked them a lot, I thought I would give them a go in stockings.

Not only that, I am experimenting with colour once again, and have some great ones coming up – but of course I have to start off with yellow!

My Outfit

I haven’t worn this skirt in forever, and thought it would be great to style up! I added a cream bodysuit paired with cream court shoes to finish the look. I was supposed to have paired my yellow shoes with this outfit, but realised I left them at home!

The Packaging

Getting Them On: these are a one size pair, so it’s just a scrunch and roll jobby here. I worked my way up the legs and set them in place when they got to the top of my thighs. I found sitting them higher makes them look a little more sheerer. I clasped them into place and started my day!

These were fine going over anklets too – they glided right past with no issues.

On The Legs: I quite like this colour. I thought it would be a little more solid like it shows on the website but maybe that was on a slimmer legged person and isn’t stretched like I have done. I don’t mind it being slightly sheerer, but it would have looked even more striking if it was denser. Yellow is one that works so well for Spring/Summer with the sunlight in my opinion.

The quality is not bad to be honest; these are hard to snag with the gloss coating it has, and they stay looking great all day. They don’t feel cheap which I’m glad about.

The fit is not too bad; I felt it was a little tight around the thighs at first, but that soon settled once I started moving in them. I will say this isn’t a pair for all – it will become a lot sheerer the higher up in size you go and the fit won’t be as great. I found I had stretch upto the knees before they started to feel slightly tough.

The feel of them are silky smooth, and so lovely to touch. I do love the glide I got from them during the day. My legs also didn’t feel irritated either, which is another bonus. That gloss coating on them is stunning!

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes, which shade ever so slightly lighter than the rest of the feet. I do like that these have them for that extra bit of protection. I had plenty of wiggle room around my toes, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth fitted finish with no wrinkling.

The Bands: if only the bands were better than this! So they pitch these as stockings that you don’t need a garter/suspender belt for – YES YOU DO! These have no silicone bands to hold them up on their own, and these will roll down the legs in an instant without them. I used my double clasp suspender belt just make them look a little fancy for the day.

These roll down so quickly and there is nothing to stop that from happening with me – if you have slimmer legs it might not be an issue but if you are working with some chonk like I am – then yes you will face this issue. It is a shame but due to the glossy materials that is on the welts as well, it will start to roll or shimmy down and sit where they want to.

These have a good amount of stretch to them, which is great but it’s a tight elastic, so I did find inner thigh bulges from time to time.

The welts also have a fine reinforcement underneath them, which isn’t as noticeable (well it depends on the angle and lighting).

My Thoughts?

Not a bad pair at all – I do like the colour and that glossy shine it carries! These are a great statement pair, however the fit is what makes me question them to be honest. I would recommend for short term use only.
