Charnos 24/7 Lace Top Hold-ups

For Day 3 of my holdups of the day – all lovingly purchased from my Amazon Wishlist – I’m turning the spotlight on a true every‑day classic: the Charnos 24/7 Hold Up Stockings in a sheer 15 denier. These are the kind of staples that deserve a place in every hosiery collection because they strike a perfect balance between practicality and understated elegance.

Charnos itself is one of Britain’s most enduring hosiery brands, with roots going all the way back to the 1930s. Over decades it built its reputation by embracing technological innovation in legwear – from early stretch nylons to the integration of Lycra – all while remaining synonymous with quality, timeless design and a superb fit that flatters a wide range of legs and occasions.

These 15 denier holdups feature a smooth sheer leg topped with a lace band and silicone grips to help them hold up without needing suspenders. They’re the kind you can wear confidently from morning through evening, whether under tailored workwear or paired with a skirt for drinks later, and their everyday versatility makes them a reliable go‑to throughout April and beyond.

My Outfit

A simple pair of holdups calls for a cute dress! I went for my polka dot frill dress (I forgot the brand name of it) along with my patent court shoes to lift it slightly.

The Review

From The Website: Charnos 15 denier hold ups, 2 pair pack. An excellent value product which includes comfort fit and value for money. With a sheer leg, delicate lace top and a reinforced toe. Available in 4 fantastic colours.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I made sure that I had my hosiery gloves on this morning, to avoid any snags or damage whilst getting them on.

A scrunch and roll on both legs before setting them in place. Elasticity wasn’t an issue, so I could pop them a little higher if I wanted, but I kept it low this time for the sake of it.

On The Legs: I realised I didn’t take many pictures in today’s review – apologies for that people! What I will say is that these are a good pair of holdups for an everyday look.

The quality of these are average; nothing much to rave about to be honest. They are perfect for those who just want something that works without spending too much and bonus – you get 2 pairs in a pack so you have a backup in case. I did find that these snag quite easily – luckily I only got 1 and it stayed as a snag, but it was very easily done, so it doesn’t give me too much hope that these will stand the test of time.

The fit of these are true to size, and I had plenty of stretch in them, so I could sit them wherever I wanted on the legs.
If you are in-between sizes, I would advise going a size up just you have a little extra material to play with.

The feel of these are alright; they’re nothing to write home about. They don’t itch or feel weird on the skin, but I did have moments where on certain textures, it does irritate slightly. They are soft to some degree, and smooth to touch.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with invisible reinforced toes, so you can wear open toes with these if you wish. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish overall with no wrinkling.

The Bands: I like that these bands have a lovely design to them; nothing too out there, but something to add to the simplicity.

I had plenty of stretch in these bands, so I had no issues with any thigh squeezes.

My Thoughts?

Not the best pair, but I would recommend as an everyday pair if you’re someone on the go and don’t want anything too expensive to ruin. These do the perfect jo, giving you that sleek finish.
