Cette Long Beach Tights

New brand alert! I have come across Cette a few times but never really thought about buying a pair until now. I can see it’s more of an everyday style rather than a fashion piece – but hey it ain’t gonna stop me!

So let me give you a little lowdown about the brand:

About Cette

“Welcome to the luxury world of cette, the leading Belgian hosiery and shapewear manufacturer.

The factory has been founded in 1958 in a small village of Flanders at 30 km of Brussels, in a historical textile area.

The brand cette was launched in 1988 and is currently internationally registered.

Today, more than 80% of the production is exported to about 40 countries worldwide.

Since 2006, cette is the licensee of the original magic knickers of the British fashion guru’s, Trinny & Susannah.

cette answers, with the development of perfect styling and sophisticated technology, to the most demanding consumers’ requests for fine gauge knitted legwear and shapewear in order to give a confident feeling to elegant ladies”

The Review

From The Website: Fine tights that have a matte finish, cotton gusset and transparent toe. They’ve also got flat seams and contain Aloe Vera so they have a moisturising element to them. Soft and comfortable to wear and of course come up to Cette’s usual high standards. Perfect for Spring/Summer.

* 9 denier
* Sheer to waist
* Matte finish
* Cotton gusset
* Transparent toe
* 49% Polyamide
* 50% Elasthane
* 1% Coton

The Packaging: now remember I mentioned a little basic everyday wear? Well this is what I felt the packaging was telling me when I first saw it; basic with the brand name and make on the front, and when you flip over, you find the sizing guide, hosiery care and the following in various languages:

“Very thin summer pantyhose, matt, all-through, cotton gusset, transparent toes, moisturising (Aloe Vera).”

Once you get in, these are nicely wrapped around card, flat packed ready to get on.

Getting Them On: so as these are super thin, please do war hosiery gloves so you don’t end up snagging them! I wore my silky ones to help me scrunch and roll them up.

Over anklets these are fine as long as you take care. I would advise sharp anklets to come off if you choose to wear these.

On The Legs: so now that they’re on and 15 hours later… we shall see how we got on!

The denier is like amazingly thin, which gives it that barely there look. If these were in nude or tan, these would definitely look invisible on the legs! I do love lower deniers as they do keep your legs quite cool during summer (and you can get some with some amazeballs technology where they actually do cool your legs!)

The quality however let me down terribly today; I found that these had a lot of weird stretch markings on them and it became snag heaven! I didn’t feel like I had to really pull them up my legs as I felt there was enough material – so I was stunned when I saw those markings!! One thing I will mention is that these do have a rough feel to them; they aren’t as smooth as they look on the lets.

The fit and feel is great; these are soft but quite rough to touch and I’m not too sure if they did actually keep moisture on the legs; I tend to do an oil ritual on my legs each night for the next morning so they’re already all silky and nice. But if someone does try these out on dry legs, then please do let me know how you got on!

The Toes & Ankle: I didn’t take many images here as there wasn’t much to talk about; the toes aren’t reinforced so you get those peeps and sandals out with some popping nail colour to really make an impression! There is plenty of room for the toes as well in these so don’t feel any pressure being put on them during the day.

Around the ankles, it’s a nice smooth finish 🙂

The Waistband & Gusset: a damn good waistband here you know! I felt these really did serve me well throughout the day; they stayed flush against my waist without a single roll down and they had plenty of elasticity in them too!

The gusset is a small nicely sewn in cotton one so no worries for those who wanna go commando!

My Thoughts?

Overall I think these would be brill if I didn’t have to worry about those markings on the tights; I felt these really would work for summer with the denier being so low and breathable. I’m not too sure if I would recommend though if these can snag up real easy!
