Cecilia de Rafael Valentino Patterned Tights

A little late for cute love heart tights (like it’s way past Valentine’s) … But nevertheless, we can still be rocking them throughout the year. We love our legs right?!

So another pair that was bought a while back, but we are now able to rock out!

I kept it proper simple today with a striped dress and black court shoes (which I accidentally left at work). I added small hoops and left the hair down to finish the look.

The Review

From The Website:ย Valentino means Valentine and Cecilia de Rafael has created the perfect pair of subtle patterned tights that are perfect for feeling the love. Featuring an all over heart-shaped embroidery design that is super fun and flirty with a 30 denier matte finish for a smooth leg silhouette. Pair them with a high waisted black denim skirt and heeled boots for an edgy look. Furthermore, these heart-shaped patterned tights feature a plain gusset for a comfortable all day wear and flexibility, also with a reinforced toe for extra durability. 70% Nylon 25% Polypropylene 5% Spandex

The Packaging: so with Samburu packaging, it’s slightly different from the normal CdR that you get. It’s a lot more ‘basic’ let’s say. What I mean by this is that it’s pretty plain packaging with the model wearing the hosiery, very little colour used and the back hardly has any detail about the pair. It’s like what you see is what you get kinda thing; I got to admit I wasn’t so ‘yay yay yay‘ when I saw the tights; I was like yep the pair is here, so let’s get them on.

These come flat packed around cardboard, with no leg shaping or anything, so you just get them right on.

Getting Them On: I didn’t bother with hosiery gloves this time as these are quite thick and I wanted to see what they would be like getting them on with the protection of the gloves. I have to say they roll on quite nice; a lovely thick-ish denier which is soft on the inside as well as out.

It gives decent leg coverage at the bottom, but as you stretch them they do end up going a lot more sheer.

On The Legs: so now that they’re on and a day has been spent in them I can finally go into detail about how they’ve been.

So the denier I mentioned has an ombre effect; it was a lot darker at the bottom of the legs and as it was stretched at the top, it became a lot sheerer where you can really see the heart design.

The fit is great on the legs and the feel I can’t complain either. It was smooth, they were soft and felt really nice to touch. It looked as if it became rougher on the thighs but that’s not the case.

The design is super cute, but I noticed where it stretches it becomes a little messy. The hearts at the bottom look all nice and near enough pristine, but towards the top, you see the stitching errors which I wasn’t too pleased about.

Now with the quality; I have to say I did manage to snag these a few times on the thighs; only minor ones that you can’t really tell that much in pictures (even though I couldn’t stop staring at them during the day). Otherwise these are alright; you get what you pay for really is the better way to describe it to you. They aren’t as great as the normal CdR range, but a more ‘cheaper’ version – I don’t like saying that but it’s the only word that came into my head!

So below you’re gonna find some bare legs pictures … Why? Because I wanted to show you after a day in them, I got imprints on my legs! They’re not fully pressed in so you can see the exact detail, but faint little hearts dotted all over the legs!

The Toes & Ankle: woo hoo! These have reinforced toes to them, which is great news for those with long nails (mine are pretty much getting there at this stage!) – the only bad thing I encountered was that on one foot this actually moved and ended up sideways rather than going across my toes!

There is plenty of wiggle room in these too, which is always great with thick-er tights!

Around the ankles, they fit well and are a nice smooth run up. No wrinkles or crinkles here!

The Waistband & Gusset: now the waistband! This is a slightly thick one (or some call standard depending on the hosiery you wear), which sits around the belly button area (on me anyways). They hold up the tights really well during the day and have plenty of stretch to them as well, which doesn’t get lost during the day either.

The design works right to the top of the waistband, which is great news for shorts, miniskirts and dresses!

The gusset is a cotton one, which is sewn in really nicely. I mean you get some that look so tacky and like a rushed job, but these don’t!

My Thoughts?

Overall I think these are cute. They are pretty good for what you get (minus those snags) and they’re decently priced as well!

The denier is great for those who want a little more leg coverage, but still want to flaunt legs during summer.
