Cecilia de Rafael Hyde Park Backseam Tights

Something a little different today, but one that I really like. I love a good backseam, and my day has been made as I’m working with a contrast backseam. At first, I was thinking how do I dress this as a statement piece, but today I decided to tone it down and keep it simple so I could let the seam do the talking for me.

This pair was kindly gifted from my Amazon Wishlist.

The Review

From The Website: If it’s fine seams you’re looking for then look no further. These gorgeous backseam tights from Cecilia de Rafael are perfect for adding interest to your legs. The fine seam makes your legs look slimmer and more shapely. Seams, although a bit saucy can also look incredibly sophisticated and these Hyde Park Backseam Tights are just that. The seam does not come from a point heel but from the toes so it runs under the foot, up the heel and straight up the back of the leg. As with all Cecilia de Rafael products they fit wonderfully and the equality is exceptionally good for the price.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I took my time to get them up the legs, as I had a backseam to work with. I did my scrunch and roll as straight as possible before I slid them on the legs. I made sure as I was rolling up that I was getting my seam straight so I didn’t have to touch it up later.

These were fine going over my anklets as well; they didn’t catch on at all.

On The Legs: I am loving this contrast seam, that works so well with my outfit I have to say. I’m glad I picked a light grey and these houndstooth heels as it really just compliments one another. I have to say it can be a pair that not many people would get as I know a lot of people who don’t know how to work with contrast seams, or don’t know how to style it so it works. I really liked the light seam as this is something you can wear all year round, and easy to par with lighter coloured clothing too.

The quality of these were great; I was super impressed with them that they did not have any snags or rips whilst I was in them. They also had a little stretch to them – as these are XS they didn’t have as much as what a Small or Medium size would have. However, it was no issue for me as they sat well and didn’t gap anywhere.

The fit of these are true to size, so I would recommend checking the sizing guide before purchasing. If in doubt, go one size up as CdR are great for that. I’ve worn Medium before a few times when I have been in doubt and they hae fit me perfectly well like a Small would.

The feel of these are super soft, and really silky on the skin. They had a lovely glide up the legs and they don’t cause any irritation either. They are lovely and smooth when you run your hands up and down them.

The Toes & Ankle: you will see there that these toes are really sheer compared to the rest of the material. These are not reinforced toes, and to be honest I don’t know why they are lighter. I mean I don’t mind but it does baffle me slightly. You can certainly wear these with peep toe shoes and sandals; I know I would now that I have slightly lighter toes.

I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe and they didn’t feel any pressure added. Around the feet and ankles, it’s a lovely smooth and fitted finish.

The backseam starts right where the lighter denier toes finish and the 20D starts – so you get this great long backseam!

The Waistband & Gusset: and the backseam does not stop until the waistband! How great is this – it means you can pair up with ANYTHING YOU LIKE! You don’t have to worry about a backseam ending where your shorts are starting etc.

The band on these are pretty thin, but I love the fact they stay looking like this all day. They don’t shimmy down the waist and they certainly don’t roll over itself creating bumps under my clothing. It is super comfortable to wear, and they have plenty of stretch to them, so they don’t feel tight or loose once they’re on the waist.

The gusset is a small cotton patch that sit flush against the skin, and doesn’t budge out of place.

My Thoughts?

I really like this pair, and how gorgeous that contrast seam looks on! The quality has been great, the fit was perfect for me and I loved being in them. It certainly got me some looks!
