Calzedonia Pearl Fishnet Tights

Can you believe it is actually warming up now in the UK so I can finally get these babies out! I bought these when they were in the sale (not gonna lie I didn’t want to pay full price for them so waited until they went in the sale – like everyone else!)

Anyways so these were bought at the beginning of the year, and I was hoping to get into them with some sheer underneath, but seeing as that never happened, now is the best time to get them out whilst the sun is beaming!

My Outfit

I went with a monochrome outfit as I wanted to go simple. I had a last minute shirt change; I went from a striped shirt to polka dots thinking it would look a lot cuter and more playful rather than office attire with nets (which can look wrong if they aren’t dressed right).

I added small studs, left my hair down (as always) and added my new suede mules to finish off the look

The Review

From The Website: Women’s large-hole fishnet tights embellished with hand-sewn pearl appliqué details.

The Packaging: so I got dead excited as these are special editions, so their packaging is different. It’s full on black and gold at the front of the packaging, with the back showing a small image of the model wearing the hosiery. It also goes into more detail about hosiery care, sizing and the following:

“Woman tights”

When you get inside, you find these wrapped again in plastic packaging. The only downfall is that one leg has a piece of card in, but I’m trying not to scream about that.

The card is easy to pull out to be honest, and once it’s out, it’s ready to get on!

Getting Them On: okay so I left my gloves off this time round as I had to get my fingers in the nets to help scrunch and roll. Let me also mention that you need to be ultra careful as the pearl beading does get stuck in the netting, so please be mindful. The amount of times I got these stuck is unreal, but I got there in the end!

The same applies to anklets under nets (unless you’re dong a sheers base) as these can get tangled up!

On The Legs: I gotta say these are fab! I wore these without any sheers underneath (but made sure I creamed my legs before wearing so they don’t look dry) and they looked amazeballs!

Everyone at work loved them and to be honest, I have never come across a pair like this.

The denier was great; enough to make it look nice and bold on the legs and to hold the pearls up. I don’t know what type of denier was used, but it’s not that dark rough one that you get when you buy from a supplier in China.

The fit was amazing; I thought it would be slightly baggy under the knees and around the ankles, but they fit beautifully!  Even on my thighs, they didn’t look over-stretched in any way which I love as it always looks a little weird when you get that nice netting on the bottom and then it just widens itself out on the top!

The quality is great; they have survived my day of madness and I am impressed. I managed not to get them caught in anything so they rip and create this gigantic hole, and they are a lovely soft finish which doesn’t itch the skin (I hate it when some nets do that!)

The Toes & Ankle: I don’t have an issue with whatsoever. They have behaved all day and have given me no grief. I always find with wider nets that (especially round the heels) that the nets widen and look like they’re about to rip, but with these, they have been fab!

The toes have that smaller netting which acts like a reinforcement turning into wider nets at the bottom of the toes. They don’t budge at all during the day and given plenty of wiggle room too!

Around the ankles, these are a nice flush finish without any sign of them gathering! Overall… I’m impressed!

The Waistband: so the waistband is a very slim one which actually sits around the belly button. Even if you tried to pull them up higher, you actually can’s as the netting (where the gusset should be) stops you from pulling higher than you should. I actually don’t know if that is a good or bad thing, but we shall roll with it anyways!

So the band is dead comfortable; it’s a nice stretchy one that doesn’t hug the life out of you during the day and doesn’t budge either. They holdup the nets really well 🙂

My Thoughts?

I think these are incredible! I absolutely love them and how different they are to other nets out there. These are decent quality, look fabulous on the legs and a right statement piece (especially when the sun hits the pearls!)

If you can try and get your hands on a pair, then do so. You certainly won’t regret it!
