Calzedonia Opaque 50 Holdups

Happy Valentine’s Day my lovelies. I bring a romantic blog for you to read, with a pair that was sent all the way from Italy with love.

I do like Calzedonia as a brand, and I am expecting these to be pretty darn good. They look it just by feeling them in my hands fresh out the packaging.

My Outfit

I decided to match up prints and colours with today’s outfit – just to show you I am feeling the love. I went with my love heart maxi dress paired with matching heels ad those bright, vivid holdups.

The Review

The Packaging

Getting Them On: even those these are a thicker denier, I still take care getting them on. I did my scrunch and roll, taking care going over my anklets and rolling them up. I didn’t tug at them too much as I wanted to see how high they sit on my legs.

On The Legs: well I have to start off with the colour, as they are so vibrant and make such a statement. I love this type of red paired with dresses and skirts, for a super playful look. With them being semi-opaque, they give a sensual bold look!

The quality of these are lovely; they aren’t as easy to rip due to the thicker denier however they can still snag. I had to make sure that they stayed snag-free where my dress was split so I can show you all how well they have done; and they did well for sure. No snags, no rips, no damage.

The fit of these are spot on. As they are a duo size, you have extra stretch to them which means you get a great fit with even coverage. I did stretch them out on my thighs as I sat them higher than usual due to the split – and no issues whatsoever.

The feel of them are so soft and really smooth. These are microfiber, and I know a lot of people don’t really like that when it comes to their hosiery. But what I did find is that my dress just brushed past them with ease, and they caused me no issues during the day. I had no skin irritation either, so I know these can last me all day and all night!

I’ll speak about the welts further down…

The Toes & Ankle: as far as I am aware, these don’t have reinforced toes to them. However, the higher denier does give some sort of protection – but one that I would still be cautious after many wears.

I had plenty of wiggle room in these, and there was nopressure added during my wear either. I found them to be super comfortable.

Around the feet and ankles, I did find some wrinkling from time to time, but that’s due to the higher denier and how it sits. Apart from that, they were fine.

The Bands: not only do we have the same colour bands (I say this as usually they are a darker shade or a different colour altogether) but they fit so well.

They have a double silicone strap that sits at the top of the lace band, and it has a great amount of tackiness to them.

The lace design is lovely; it’s simple and it works so well with the solid red on the legs. I liked the fact that it’s even, and there’s stitching undone or extra bits of material like you get with some brands.

My Thoughts?

I really love this pair, and comfortable they were to wear too. The colour just pops, and works so well with this outfit. I would certainly recommend this pair if you can get your hands on them.
