Ooooooo I have been waiting to get my legs into these pair for some time now. I got these on my little Calzedonia spending spree, and I thought how office-like do these look!?
I know me being me I will always pair with work attire, but this is a pair I certainly wanna do with some casual clothing to instantly make it look smarter. But this time we shall stick to the office-look 🙂
Materials: Polyamide: 88%, Elastane: 10%, Cotton: 2%
Price & Website: Unknown
I wore a dress which I haven’t pulled out in a very long time; a bodycon with lace detail at the front and a deep back. I paired this with my suede court shoes to give it that proper professional look. I kept my hair in some weird ponytail as well!
The Packaging: as I bought these from the store, these were hanging on the rails rather than in a slim packet. It doesn’t go into much detail at all to be fair, but then again you get the jist of it just by looking at it.
Once you unravel the outer card, you will find these folded with 1 piece of card inserted in 1 leg so you can full see the design. This was easy enough to slip out (compared to some I come across) and ready to get on 🙂
On The Legs: so getting these on were easy enough; doing my usual scrunch and roll up the legs from the toes, and taking care over the anklets as per usual.
The denier being 40 gives that houndstooth design a bolder look on the legs. I feel like it isn’t 40 all around; maybe 20 denier base with a 40 denier design. I could be wrong but that’s what it seems like to me.
The quality of these are real good; I rarely have any issues with Calzedonia in terms of their quality and durability. I find that these don’t snag as easy and often compared to other affordable brands. They don’t normally use a run-resistant material but it seems like that at times when I have been in a pair.
The fit and feel is true to size on this one – even though it is a Small-Medium size. I felt I had plenty of room in these with enough stretch on the legs if needed. I didn’t feel they were too tight on the legs or the fact they would be pulling themselves down due to the lack of stretch. The feel of them is a little rough; these are a matte finish so it won’t be some silky smooth finish. It feels more like cotton – it’s a hard one to describe!
The design is just gorgeous; subtle but effective, bold but still quite toned down. With the houndstooth being a smaller size, it helps not to make it look so chunky and bold on the legs. I feel that having it smaller slims the legs further, whereas if the design was chunkier, it would make the legs seem more ‘filled out’ let’s say.
The Toes & Ankle: the toes aren’t reinforced which is a bummer, but the plus side is that the toes have plenty of wiggle room with enough material to cover and allow them to breathe during the day.
Around the ankles, these are a lovely smooth flush finish with no signs of any crinkles.
The Waistband: is pretty basic but does the job well 🙂
It’s a slim band compared to most of Calzedonia’s collection, but it works. It sits around the belly button level on me, and stays put all day long. It hugs enough but doesn’t leave horrible markings on the waist after wear. It also has plenty of elasticity in them too, so you don’t need to worry about it starting to fall down easily!
I am so glad I got a pair; I love this design and have been after something like this for a while now! I love the quality of them; no snag in sight which I love and overall I think these are worth the money you pay. If you can get your hands on it for cheaper, then perfect but I would recommend these for sure 🙂
