Heavy floral lace? YES PLEASE. To think I used to wear these types of tights for years when I was younger because I thought plain sheer was too boring. I always made my legs the statement of my entire outfit with designs and prints like these. They look gorgeous and add so much without even trying, which is why I love bringing them out with simple outfits.
Anyways, enough background and into the review we go. I got these in the Calzedonia sale in-store, so I’m not too sure if they are still available. If you hurry, you might be able to get them online still!

I went smarty pants today, wearing a satin shirt tucked loosely into my shorts ad added some glam heels for the sake of it. I mean you can tone it down with a pair of normal court shoes, but I wanted to go a little OTT today so added my diamante heels.
Shorts: River Island
From The Website: Women’s tights made with lace fabric.
The Packaging: as these were from the store, they were open like so (which I always hate as they are prone to snags and rips when people pick them up, touch them etc). These are normally quite easy to get into, as long as you fold the outer card out gently.
When you get into it, you will find one led with card inserted inside. Just gently slide that out so you don’t end up damaging the tights.
Getting Them On: I took my time to scrunch and roll these up the legs taking care going over my anklets. I gotta say I absolutely love how they look on the legs! I was too busy admiring them that I ended up taking longer to set in place and rush out the door.
On The Legs: so let me begin with the design because they are so striking! The floral lace starts from the toe seam and works right up t the band, so you can wear short clothing with these with ease. I love how bold they look, yet feminine at the same time. I know they are quite busy-looking, but I think they look incredible!
The quality of these are very nice too, although you will have to be careful when you’re in them as they would sag easily. These are a mix of fine net and nylon, and when grazed against, these can snag. It’s happened to me multiple times in the past with similar tights, and I always throw a fit when it happens! There is also a nice bit of stretch in them so you get even leg coverage from toe to waist.
The fit of these are true to size, and I would recommend checking the sizing guide or asking one of the advisers in store if you’re not too sure. The feel of them are smooth, but they are very slightly rough to touch due to the netting. It’s nothing that will irritate your legs, but when you run your hands over them, you’ll feel the netting.
The Toes & Ankle: the design works right from the toe seams, which means these won’t be reinforced sadly. However, a positive point is you can pull out those open toe shoes and sandals so you can really show them off without the reinforcement strip going across the front.
I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes in these, and no pressure was added either during the day. Around the feet and ankles, I had a lovely smooth finish with no wrinkles.
The Waistband & Gusset: the one thing (well 2 really) is the waistband itself and you get the lace design working all the way to the top. The band sits around the belly button on me, and it stays put all day. I didn’t have any issues with it falling down or rolling over itself under my clothing to create bumps. It’s stretchy enough so it hugs well but doesn’t squeeze you during the day.
The gusset as you can see is a small palm-sized piece in the middle of the tights. This has a cotton piece to it, so you have the option to go commando or wear underwear.
If you can get your hands on them, I would certainly recommend them for sure. I love the way they look on the legs, and the design is stunning. I love the quality of Calzedonia and they normally don’t let me down!
