Ballerina Persephone Sparkle Backseamed Tights

We are back in Ballerina! I had such a great pair to review last time, and I am excited to see what this pair is like. I saw them online, and they looked too stunning not to try! Plus I haven’t had a lurex pair to try out for a while either.

With this pair, I wanted to create a dinner look; something simple, chic and can work for dinner / drinks.

I kept it spicy with going red and black. I paired my bodycon dress with my heart court shoes to finish the look. You can go for simple black shoes or sandals, stick with red to create a striking look.

The Review

From The Website: Ballerina has some of the most ornate designs in the world of leg wear right now and this design, Persephone, is a gorgeous one indeed. It is one of their more restrained and less elaborate pieces, but it is still great for turning heads, and the more minimal approach makes it doubly versatile too. If you want a classic backseam with heaps of extra detailing, then Persephone is for you.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: was a little interesting this morning. I did my usual scrunch and roll, only to find that the backseam I was following was super bent on both legs. I even had the right leg twisting as I was following the backseam. That was super weird and not something I was expecting, however I am hoping I will have a good wear for the rest of the day.

These were also fine going over anklets too, as long as you take care going over them.

On The Legs: I can’t believe I am going to say this because I like this brand a lot – this is one of the WORST pairs I have ever tried from this brand. I don’t know if they have changed hands recently, as I do feel their quality has changed, but this pair is one of the worst I have tried to date. I really do like this brand, however it has seriously let me down. The main reason is for how they look and feel on the legs; they feel rough, they look cheaply made and they don’t sit well at all. I am really disappointed in this pair.

The quality is not great at all; these snag SO EASILY, and I mean I could just touch it and a snag would appear. They also have markings round the top thigh and waist.

The fit of these do fit me well, and I am happy that they do. They are a duo size, so you do have some stretch in these to get even leg coverage.

The feel of these are not good at all; these are rough on the skin and have a grainy feel to them too. I find find it rubbed against my dress from time to time, which I didn’t expect. Normally thy glide across bodycon dresses, but not with this apir.

The backseam design is lovely and elegant, and certainly an eye catcher for sure. This was my favourite part of the tights. This also leads up right to the top of the waistband too, which I couldn’t take a proper image of, so I popped in clippets below.

The Toes & Ankle: now I have a fair bit to say here too. The toe reinforcement is uneven, it snags easily and the toe seams end up sitting under the toes which is a slightly uncomfortable. I found the reinforcement to cover some toes on one foot, and not all on others. The toe seams are also an issue, so they don’t sit flush at the top of the toes; they just end up moving further down the foot and sitting under the toes instead.

Speaking of under the toes, I hope you can see that the seams do not sit in the middle as they are sew on bent. I had to keep moving them from time to time at the back of my heel to make sure they stay straight for the rest of the legs.

I did feel my wiggle room was limited in this pair, as they ended up cramping my toes and slight pressure was added too during my wear.

Around the feet and ankles, it was a smooth finish with no wrinkling.

The Waistband & Gusset: is the final issue I occurred. The waistband does roll down on itself as you can see below. This continually happened during the day, regardless of how many times I did roll them up and sit them in place. The positive part is that it comes with a reinforced band underneath before it works into a panty design – at the back and front.

My Thoughts?

If I am brutally honest, I wouldn’t waste my time with this pair. I had too many issues, and I wouldn’t want to put you through that.
