Day 19 of my holdups of the day takes a stylish turn with these Ballerina Art.076 Hold-Ups – a pair that reflects just why Ballerina remains a favourite name for fashion-forward hosiery.

I’ve got a new dress, so of course I had to style it to show off to you all. I paired up with my lovely holdups and added simple mesh court shoes to finish off the look.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: I made sure my hosiery gloves were on this morning, to avoid any snags or damage whilst getting them on.
I did have a fair amount of stretch in them, so I could sit them higher.

These were fine going over my anklets too!

On The Legs: another pair I decided to wear the wrong way round, because I really wanted to show off the seams on this one. I found that one leg I managed to get the seams pretty straight (and it had to be the leg that’s covered of course) and the other I realised was bent – and there was nothing I could do about it. No amount of twisting and turning would get these to sit straight, so I had to just make do.
I am certain I have worn a pair like this before, maybe for promo posts on socials, but first time reviewing them – and I really like them. I think they are simple but really effective once you get to see the design – and this is why I wanted to show them off as much as possible instead of them being hidden at the back.

Now the quality of this pair could be so much better in my opinion. I felt these are cheaply made and there was no attention to detail. The biggest was how bent one of the seams were stitched in, let alone how much these easily snag too. I wasn’t impressed with how they look close up, as you can see those lines going across instead of it being a smooth-looking finish.

The fit of these are true to size, and I had plenty of stretch in them, so I could sit them wherever I wanted on the legs.
If you are in-between sizes, I would advise going a size up just you have a little extra material to play with.

The feel of these are soft, but the feel isn’t as smooth as I would have liked it to be. They do the job, and don’t irritate my legs, but it’s a shame as they have so much potential.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes as you can see below. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish overall with no wrinkling.

The Bands: are nice and have a lovely design to them. They are held up with a double silicone strip at the top. They also have a mesh feel to them, instead of a lace feel – just something worth noting.

I had plenty of stretch in these bands, so I had no issues with any thigh squeezes.

My Thoughts?

I think the design is lovely, and they look so good at the front instead of the back. It’s a massive shame about the quality of them to be honest. I would still recommend purely on the design.
