ASOS Snake Tights

Now ASOS doesn’t pop up a lot (or hardly ever I should say) on my page as I am always unsure about the quality of their manufacturers. I go with known brands as I know that their quality is decent, whereas when it’s a online store like ASOS I am always hesitant.

Now what made my buy these then? I saw them on their Instagram page on a blogger and I thought they were so funky (and looked like they were good quality)! So I decided to get a pair for myself to try out!

My Outfit

I added small studs and my double choker just to finish off the look.

The Packaging: so as I ordered these online with other bits of course, it only came wrapped in a small plastic bag with a small label on there stating what it was.

As you get into it, you will need to make sure you have your hosiery gloves on so you don’t snag these from the beginning of your wear!

As I unfolded them out, I found these to be super long – like longer than my leg length which made me question what size these actually are! I thought I ordered XS, when it looks like I done a medium or one size instead!

So these are gonna be fun to get on…

Getting Them On: okay so let me begin by saying this has got to be the longest time I have spent trying to get my hosiery sitting right. It took me around 25-35 minutes to actually get them how I want them to be!

I had to scrunch and roll a lot with these as they were so long to begin with, and because of the extra material I had to play with, it made it hard to get it right.

I first pulled up too much which meant that I had too much nylon at the top of the thighs. I then rolled down and then did it again but then the design wasn’t sitting right.

I had to keep repeating a few times until I got it right after the 11th try (I think it was 11 or maybe 12!)

On The Legs: when I finally got there, I decided to try and not look at my legs during the day until I got home. I didn’t want to keep checking to see if I had snags or anything, and thought it was best to start my pro and con list when I get home.

So let me sum it up, starting with the good points:

  • I love the back design; it stands out so nicely on the legs
  • The sheer is great to give legs a slight coverage yet classy coverage
  • These are soft to touch but not entirely smooth as I expected them to be

Now let me switch it:

  • They snag so easily; I managed to get holes in various places on the legs
  • There was a lot of creasing around the ankles and under the knees
  • The design does move at the back of the legs; they don’t hold in one place like you would expect it to
  • The quality is terrible on these; I am actually disappointed in how these turned out

I can’t begin to tell you how upset I was at the end of the day; walking around with my legs like that, covered in snags. It just looked awful!

The Toes & Ankle: so a plus point is that the toes are reinforced as you can tell with that thicker denier strip going across them at the front and back.

Around the foot, I still managed to get some snagging, which was just annoying, but luckily I could cover them.

Around the ankles I found that these do crease during the day due to the extra material. It’s nothing too major (as shown in the pic bottom left) but I find looking down on it, it looks a lot worse than keeping it angled on the bed.

The Waistband: I thought it might be a little better with the waistband, but I was wrong! So the band to begin with sits really high (talking above the belly button) and during the day, I found it starting to roll over itself. It wasn’t a major issue, but it started to dig in a little during the day and was simply annoying! You expect the band to be flush against you.

Another little thing to mention is that these don’t have a gusset to them; it’s pure nylon here so you might wanna pull out the undies commando-ers!

My Thoughts?

Honestly, don’t bother. I am so disappointed in these and even though they’re in the sale at the moment, I wouldn’t waste my time getting them. If you’re doing it as a one-time pair, then go ahead but I find them to be so bad in terms of quality and fit.

  1. Nice review is no way would ever buy these after reading your review thank you for your input. Maybe there’s another brand out there that are the same. Never seen sheer snake print pantyhose up the back. I can wear O/S medium large and some XL pending on brand. Will tell you one brand that the size is so far off is Be Wicked even tried their Plus size and barely got them on. So unless someone is a stick person forget about the Be Wicked brand.
