Day 21 of my holdups of the day series brings us something playful and distinctly iconic from Ann Summers – the Lace Top Spot Hold Ups in classic black. As always, this pair was purchased from my Amazon Wishlist, and they add a fun twist to the series with their mix of pattern and femininity.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: hosiery gloves on with these babies because I definitely don’t want to be damaging this pair from the get go!

A little scrunch and roll up, and they were on the legs in a breeze. I didn’t have any issues this morning getting these on, especially over anklets.

On The Legs: you all know me by now, I love me some polka dots! I was super excited to try these out with this dress – very Parisian of me!

If I am brutally honest, I didn’t expect much quality wise here. I found that Ann Summers and places like that tend to have cheap and cheerful pieces, which only last a few wears. Already I managed to snag these up without even trying – which annoyed me so much. I also found that they have lines across them, especially around the feet and lower legs – I did try and stretch them out a little more, but it made no difference.

The fit of these are true to size, and I had enough stretch in these to achieve a lovely leg coverage too.
If you are in-between sizes, I would advise going a size up just you have a little extra material to play with.

The feel of these are soft enough and nice to touch. I did find that they do irritate a little on the thighs; it was on and off during my wear.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes. I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish with a no wrinkling around the ankles.

The Bands: I am loving this floral lace design that just hits with this dress. You have the polka dots working right upto the bands. I did find that the bands did squeeze my thighs a tad – luckily it wasn’t a super squeeze.

I had plenty of stretch in these bands too, and they held up so well during my wear today. I had no issues with the tackiness as I am working with one large silicone strip at the top.

My Thoughts?

These holdups are great for limited wears; I do like Ann Summers but they aren’t pairs that are designed to last long. They do the job quite frankly. The overall quality is ok (minus the snags) and I love the look of them too.
