Adrian Dahlia Holdups

Dahlia here we come! I am ready for some holdups to come into my life after reviewing a lovely batch of tights. Instead of dressing these up for office wear like I normally do, I wanted to opt for a more cosy-ish style instead.

This pair was gifted off my Amazon Wishlist, and all details are below.

The Packaging

Getting Them On: okay so the sizing I will talk about a little further down, but I felt I had way too much material to play with on this pair. I didn’t have to tug these up at all to begin with, but then I realised that it becomes a lot more dark on the legs and the pattern isn’t shown as well as what it is below. So I did have to end up stretching them out a little, and then set the welt into place. These are sitting so much higher than I would like them to be!

On The Legs: I am loving this super feminine backseam with a corset lace up design. It started off with a seam under the sole, working into a lace up section and then back into a seam before ending with a corset-like design right under the welt. The front is completely plain, which I think is nice, as having a design on the front would end up being quite busy looking.

The quality is pretty decent for Adrian, however I will say I have experienced better before. I felt these snagged way too easily, and this happened near to the end of the day. I have worn Adrian pairs before where they have been amazing all day with no damage issues whatsoever. They’re decent don’t get me wrong, but with the amount of pairs I have tried before, these seem to lack a little.

The fit – let me explain it in a little more detail here. So these state XS/S right – and there’s me thinking these will fit perfectly as I want to stretch them a little to sit higher on the thigh, and it’ll expose the pattern at the back so nicely… No. No this did not happen. If anything these have a little more material than I wanted. In fact, I had enough that I could sit them well on the legs, but it meant the design got lost with the denier becoming darker. I had to end up sitting them so much higher up the thigh than I wanted just so I could show off the design properly at the back. I did find it wrinkled around the knee area slightly, which did annoy me so much but there wasn’t much I could do if I wanted to keep the pattern on show.

The feel of these have a matt finish, so they don’t feel as soft as you would think. They were fine against the skin, as no irritation was caused during my wear.

The Toes & Ankle: these come with reinforced toes to them, which are uneven. I was so not impressed, as if you’re gonna have reinforced toes, make sure they are the same on each foot! One side covered the toes a lot more than the other did.

I had plenty of wiggle room for my toes to breathe, and no pressure was added during my wear either.

Around the feet and ankles, I had a smooth finish with no wrinkling.

The Bands: these come with simple black welts to them. They have double silicone straps, so they hold up well during the day with no issues. As I mentioned before, I had to sit these a lot higher up than I would have liked, but I will say they held in place with no issues.

My Thoughts?

A lovely pair of holdups, but one that the sizing was so off for me. These would totally fit a larger size for sure, where they would have enough stretch in them for even coverage rather than little me who is left with too much material. I would still recommend them for sure purely for that lovely backseam.
