Fishnet Friyay hits.. and I am in this super awesome pair. I always get asked I layer under my fishnets whether they be small or large nets – and the answer is normally no. I like to keep the attention on the actual pair I am reviewing and not have it diverted because of my base pair. I get it can enhance it and I normally do it sometimes, but not when I am reviewing the product the first time.
Saying that, this pair is special and will fulfil a lot of people’s wishes. THEY ARE A DUO PAIR! That’s right – this pair has a sheer nude pair inside and it’s all stitched together, making it a 2-in-1!
Materials: 88% polyamide, 12% elastane
Price & Website: Unknown
I didn’t know how else to dress these (well I did but I really wanted to do monochrome) so I paired up my black cami top and draped it over my wrap-over midi skirt. I added my suede court shoes as they worked best with this outfit.
Cami Top: New Look
Skirt: River Island
The Packaging: similar to the other styles in this collection, the packaging is quite plain on the front and the back goes into a little more detail along with a window to show the pair inside.
I started giggling when I got inside; have you seen this size of this pair? The look like they could fit a baby! They look so adorable, but I can tell this is gonna have some serious stretch to them!
Getting Them On: I did my usual scrunch and roll on the legs, taking care going over my anklets.
I wanted to show you the difference of the nude pair inside against my skin tone so you can see what I’m working with. I have to say it made my legs a little lighter but s it has the netting on top, it wasn’t too bad and didn’t make my legs look super odd.
On The Legs: I am still baffled that you can buy a 2-in-1 pair like this. It does make life so much easier, however it also means you are stuck with the same colour over and over. I gotta say I am very impressed with this, and how well it works.
I don’t mind the colour it comes with to be honest, however I don’t think you could have gone wrong with a tan or bronze colour rather than a light beige as that wouldn’t suit some skin tones.
Oh I also took some images with the flash on, just so you can see how light the colour is on the skin and show that it is a matte finish.
The quality of these are really nice; they do have a little stretch to them, and they would be hard to rip; well the netting might before the base pair do. Luckily I didn’t do any damage to them.
The fit of these I would like to say are true to size, however they actually run slightly short on me. I had to keep tugging these up the legs as the gusset wasn’t sitting flush against me most of the time. If these are a size medium, I feel they would have been much better. If you do ever get hold of a pair, then make sure you go one size larger as these do run small. Oh let me also point out that I didn’t have any gapping on the legs, which I thought I might if they were really fitted.
The feel of them are really soft and the netting is quite smooth too, no matter how much you stretch them out. They don’t irritate the skin either.
The Toes & Ankle: I mentioned these ran small, and that also means that I had to tug them up. This leads to the toes feeling pressure as I had to keep pulling when they started to settle around the feet and ankles. It wasn’t pleasant to be honest.
I didn’t have much wiggle room in them, and I’m not too sure if the base pair has reinforced toes to them as it wasn’t mentioned anywhere and I couldn’t see any. I am hoping for their sake they are so my toes don’t go ripping through!
Around the feet and ankles, it was a little tight when I had to pull them up. Otherwise they were fine and it was a smooth fitted finish.
The Waistband & Gusset: a pair that runs small also means that it doesn’t sit where they are supposed to. It affected where it sat – lower than normal. I mean it was no issue, but it did start to annoy me when I did feel it start to pull itself down as I was on the move. What I thought was a perfect pair … Not so much.
The band itself is pretty good; it is stretchy, it fits well around the waist wherever it wants to sit and it does not lose elasticity. I thought it did when it started to fall, but then I realised it was the rest of the legs pulling it down.
This also meant that the gusset was around my top thigh rather than against my skin where it needed to be. Speaking of a gusset – there isn’t actually one. It’s more of a reinforced patch in the middle of the base pair.
As much as I adore the concept, these were a little too small for me and ended up being more hassle than they were worth. I did love the style of it and if it was a size bigger, this would have had a better review. Unfortunately, these didn’t really agree with me.
