Back into white we go. This time I was introduced to this pair from a follower for me to try out. I have to say I haven’t heard of this brand before (sold by Mayfair Stockings) and I thought it was intriguing to try out.
So here I am trying them out for you all 🙂
I ordered 2 pairs from Mayfair Stockings, and this will be the 1st of 2 reviews.
Denier: Around 15-20
Materials: 90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
I went casual with my look today, pairing a plain white t-shirt with my statement navy skirt and added tan court shoes to jazz it up a little. I was going to do blue heels, but then decided against it and opted for tan instead.
Stockings: Obsessive (Mayfair Stockings)
From The Website: A gorgeous sheer stocking for that special occasion. A simple, classic plain band and sheer leg which will make these just the perfect partner for all your exquisite bridal lingerie.
Complimentary hand wrapping in tissue and ribbon
90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
The Packaging: this came wrapped so nicely from Mayfair Stockings. I love how much detail was put into it as a given. I have to say every time I have ordered (and no I don’t get any special treatment here) they always come so greatly wrapped.
The box you can see is super small, which means the stockings are folded down completely. I forgot to take images of them out the box, but they were wrapped around a small palm-sized card and in plastic packaging.
Getting Them On: well as these are S/M, I will have plenty of stretch on the legs to get them on with ease. I rolled them up from the ankles, taking care that they don’t snag or rip whilst doing so. I had no issues getting them on to be honest 🙂
On The Legs: okay so first thing; can you see how super sheer they are? They also give off a coloured tinge as well, so they’re not fully white white like you expect them to be. I didn’t mind but it was a little off-putting as I wanted a proper white pair. I suppose if I got them in a thicker denier I would have got it – like the bands on them.
The quality of them are nothing special to be honest; I felt they were a little cheap and ‘it will do‘ type of feel to them. This isn’t something I would recommend as a gift to someone as I felt it lacked quality to them. These are more if you’re not fussed and need something to tide you over. Being frank, I don’t expect these to last long really.
Don’t get me wrong, they are ok as they had no snags or rips throughout the day, but on the legs I have felt better.
The fit of them are true to size with a good amount of stretch to them as well. I felt the more you stretch them out, the more sheer they become on the legs. Although I would always recommend you check the sizing guide before you purchase.
The feel of them are really soft and silky; to the point you can rub your legs and watch them glide off one another. This did surprise me if I am honest as I expected them to be slightly rough to touch. I was impressed with this.
The Toes & Ankle: these are not reinforced as you can see below; as long as you’re careful you should be ok with long nails. I made sure that my nails were smooth all over so it doesn’t catch and rip them in my shoes today.
They have plenty of wiggle room, and there is no pressure added onto the toes either.
Around the feet and ankles, it’s a lovely fitted finish with no wrinkles in sight.
The Bands: now my 1st image shows you how stretchy these bands are. I will say even though that is the case, the bands did manage to squeeze my thighs a little to give me a little muffin top on the bands:
I was not happy with that whatsoever!
You will be able to see that image if you scroll up and see the stockings from the back.
Other than that, these held up really well with my metal clasps and I had no other issues with the bands. I will say these will sit wherever you want them to – your belt will have control over them this time. I sat mine quite high up, however I had the option to sit them low and they would stay in place and hug the thighs well with no issue.
I did also fins that after a few hours, the bands would just wrinkle down slightly. It wasn’t a big deal, but something worth noting if you like to expose your bands.
I think these are ok, but I would prefer to invest in a pair that felt and looked better. These were just a cheap pair you can get your hands on and make do with. I wasn’t too keen on the sheer denier where it made my skin colour look super weird, but other than that I think they’re alright.
